Photo Impact help Please!

I have been trying to insert pictures into the WDW family vacation design by okwoodsmith(I believe). When I insert the pics, they look horrible, the color is really bad, and kind of pixelated. Can anyone help me?? Can anyone tell me why they are doing that and how to fix it? Please help, we leave in 25 days and I need to get these finished.

I use PhotoImpact, but I don't think I've had this problem. The only thing I can think of is that it's in .gif format. Sometimes that messes up pictures I want to put into a collage I'm doing. Try to convert it to .jpeg and see what happens. Other than that I would double click it to get picture properties up and fool around with picture size and tint. I hope this helps. Good luck!
