Photo Experience

I haven't seen this posted here, but would like to shar my "experience" on our recent trip to WDW. I had owned a Powershot A20 and gave it to my oldest daughter for a graduation gift ( she had always wanted it). This gave me an excuse to buy the newer Powershot S20 from Canon. I have a 22 year old VHS recorder so that needed replacing. I purchased a Canon Elura 90 camcorder. Why? Well the batteries are interchangeable between the two cameras. I also bought a 1400 mah battery, a spare 800 mah battery, and a secong charger from www.sterlingtek.com for 1/3 the price of Canon batteries. This was fortunate as the Canon battery lasted for 27 minutes before giving out. The 1400 mah battery lasted two days with me shooting a 60 minute tape each day. I used the camcorder, daughter #2 used the S70, and oldest daughter used her "new" A70. We shot over 200 pictures a day and I downloaded them to a laptop.
I had just got both cameras the week before we left so the learning curve was steep. The camcorder exceeded my expextations for ease of use and picture quality. Another bonus to this camera is the ability to take digital photos on a separate SD card. If I could change one thing on this camera it would would be the poor wide angle lens. Sitting on the curb on Mainstreet for Spectromagic, the floats more than filled the viewfinder. The S70 has a 2.8 lens and the pictures were great.
We ended up with 1200 photos and 7 hours of video. We will enjoy going through them and scrapbooking and making a vacation video.
