Photo editing help if you can

Is anybody able to "save" this photo for me in photoshop.

My cousin got married and I got some decent shots during the wedding, but...and this one really captures her spirit if she weren't so washed out. Ugh. Any chance for this?
 
Did you shoot RAW? You might be able to recover a little bit. But not all of it.. there has to be information there for the software to recover. If it's just blown out white pixels in the original data then there's nothing you can do short of going in and hand drawing details.
 
That's what I was afraid of. I've never shot in RAW but now that I'm getting a little more into photo editing may just have to do that.
 
Black & white is always something to try when there are so many blown highlights in a picture. The b&w look might not ALWAYS be fitting. But at least the blown out areas don't horribly stand out.
