Photo Copying Tickets

All these "what if", "can't I", and "how come" scenerios notwithstanding, the reason why you cannot do it is that Disney says you can't. And since they are the only ones whose opinion counts here you can come up with as many hypotheticals as you desire and it won't change a thing.

Are there exceptions to the rules? Most definitely. I wish you luck in becoming one of the exceptions. Let us know how you make out.

my son forgot to retrieve his 5day hopper when he did fast pass & did not realize it till we got back to the BW. By giving the photo-copy of the back of the pass to the person at guest relations she was able to replace his pass & cancel the lost one. She gave us a printout that showed every time he entered a park - it was very interesting to see how the # on the back of the ticket could track his every movement.

Well, see, I dunno. I'm still a bit confused. Because I can photo copy my tickets and give the photo copies away.

I mean, basing kinda on what your saying (unless I'm a total airhead, which I wouldn't doubt at times), can't I photo copy my tickets and fax them to disney to find out how many unused days I have? It's basically the same thing that you guys are saying, except I'm not there in person to do it.

Photocopying the backs of the tickets is soley for the purpose of protecting you in the event that your tickets are lost or stolen. The photocopy of the tickets provides proof of ownership. It has nothing to do with determining the number of days remaining on a ticket that you have in your possession.

It would be nice if Disney would look up the remaining days on a pass for people, either by phone or fax. But they choose not to. I wish there were an answer for you now but it looks like you'll have to wait until you get there to find out. Sorry.

Nope, afraid not. You can only do this at guest services at the parks, DD or at an onsite resort. You have to be there in person, same idea behind it as not having a phone number.

She has received her answer many times over, she just does not like it. :(

Its not that I just dont like it... but just like someone said earlier, there's always exceptions. I've been the exception in so many circumstances, that I'm just trying to figure this out. And like everything else, there is always someone who knows something that no one else does.

I mean, I could be a lawyer if I wanted to spend that much time studying. Thats generally how well I can argue things and figure things out, and stuff like that.

My problem is, its a difference between saving $50 a week and $70 a week. I mean, I only work 15 hours a week, and thats not a lot, plus I have to pay for insurance, and gas, and snow tires :). And I'd like to put a cd player in my car, and some Audiobahn subs!

Beckwhy,

You may find a loophole, or an exception, and convince Disney to check the back of your passes. If you do, good for you. But I think people here have been trying to tell you, very nicely in fact, that it's not likely to happen.

I've only been hanging around these boards since 2000, so I may offer a limited perspective. But, in all that time, I have never, ever heard of someone getting Disney to check how many days are remaining on a pass over the phone or via fax. So my educated guess is there isn't someone who "knows something that no one else does"

You'll have to make a revised plan, taking into account what may or may not be remaining on your tickets.

Well, in this case I would bet money on the fact that you will not be an exception.
We all have things we save for and want and we all (well, most of us) have learned that we cannot have everything we want when we want it.

If that's the case, put the $70 per week aside. Don't buy a PH until you get to WDW and check the remaining days on the passes you have. Buy a new PH if you have to and if you don't, put the $$$ towards the cd player and speakers when you get back.

Finding out how many days are left on the passes won't change the number of days on the passes. If you find out the passes have fewer days than you would have liked, you still have to budget more money for additional passes.

By simply using the passes as-is until they are exhausted, you don't arouse suspicion about sharing (transferring) the passes.

Next trip planned: last week of Nov., All Star Music
