Photo contest? Which characters are rare?

I see in a few weeks or so, the photo contest topic is "Rare Characters." Just wondering who you all consider rare...I mean I know who is definitely not rare (like Mickey & Pluto), but I'm not sure about some of the others being rare...I'd like to see what others think...

I think Stromboli is probably the rarest character I have ever seen out---was really surprised to see him, but his line was sooo long I didn't even bother waiting for a picture, kinda wished I did. I also saw Pinnochio and Geppetto and got a picture with them, don't ever remember seeing them before (although I've only been 5 times).

The other ones I would consider rare would probably be the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, The Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland and Jafar from Aladdin.

With all of the WDW experts out there, I'm sure there's an official list of who is rare, where you can find them, who is most common, etc. Sort of like baseball cards

Abu and Bullseye. Maybe Prince Phillip and Prince Charming (at least for character greatings). Someone somewhere on this board has a pretty complete list of all the characters and where to find them and how often they appear.

I think my most favorite Disney character is kinda rare. I have only ever seen him in parades ... Im sure he has probably been around but not that I ever got to see him ... its Jiminy Cricket

Do the three pigs and the big bad wolf come out any more? I have pictures of them from when I was around 5 yo. The mean pig (the one with the brick house) was not happy with me - I had tried squishing his piggy nose!

Just looked at the list and I guess I don't have to worry about the pig any more. Whew! And the Big Bad Wolf would be a rare occurence.

Frozone! Actually, I think he's in the current Pixar parade (we didn't stop to watch it last trip), but he's a rare site as a walk-around character.

I think got rid of the Kim Possible scheduled character meet between my 4/08 and my 1/09 trip, which is too bad for us red-blooded males out there.

The Living Character Initiatives would count, too, I think... that being the Muppet Mobile Lab, Lucky the Dinosaur, Remy (life-size!), and Wall-E... those are really rare to see!

OMG I am sooo jealous!! A friend of mine went to WDW for just a quick weekend trip and got to see him and have her picture taken with him too. I have never seen him walking around ( and I do watch for him when I am there) but have yet to catch the little bugger out and about.

I have never seen him on any other trip, but in 07 we went to AK for the first time and saw him. Again...not big on character pictures unless they have no line---so I don't have a shot to share.

In Disneyland, Donald Duck. We just can't seem to catch him. We've even asked friends and relatives to bring back a pic/autograph when they go, they can't catch him either. It's starting to become personal!

Jiminy has been my favorite character for as long as I can remember so it stands to reason I wont run in him walking around .. I did manage to get a shot of him my last time there but he was in a parade.

I'm going out on a limb and saying that "Uncle Remus" is probably the rarest of Disney characters. I'm betting that he's one star of a successful Disney movie that isn't likely to be seen in the parks for a very long time, if ever.

I believe that Jiminy Cricket makes a regular appearance in Animal Kingdom in Rifiki's Planet Watch area. Our last 2 trips he was scheduled to be there, but we never made it to that part of the park.

This is a pretty detailed list of the characters at Walt Disney World. The family who runs this site only goes to WDW twice a year now, but they do update it when they can if they find other information. I don't think you'll find a more complete list than this one. Definitley worth bookmarking for future reference.

Thanks for that information. I usually make the trip out to Planet Watch area when I am there so will definitely try and find the cricket boy next time I am there. And thanks too for the character watch list Kyle .. I bookmarked it for future reference.

The link someone posted is nice but as far as the contest goes, any character you'd not seen before and had to get a photo of, qualifies as a rare character in my book.

I had no idea white rabbit was rare, I literally ran right into him while waiting for my parents at Magic Kingdom last week. Got several shots.

wasn't the greatest movie...but an awesome character...

How bout the fab 5 all together? We were lucky to get a shot of these.
