Hi, photo experts - a quick question. I have some photo CDs from Target (both the Target brand and Kodak.) What do I use to write on them - a regular pen, a Sharpie, something special? I'd like to fill in the dates and "Disney" or whatever subject they are on the CD. Thanks in advance!!!

A sharpie.

Ah, thanks, you are my hero!!! I was beginning to wonder why 17 people had read my question, and nobody had an opinion. Can there be that many lurkers on the Photography Board???:rotfl:

Beats me.

I used to always use sharpies to label my CDs and DVDs. I prefer a fine point, but a medium will do.

I've been playing with some new disks with "LightScribe" technology. When you are done burning the disk, you flip it over and the laser can burn a label on the backside. It's kind of cool, but the images are very, very, very low contrast, so you need good lighting to see them.

Thanks - I think I'll just treat myself to a new Sharpie!!!!

There are special Sharpies for CDs. This may be for real, it may be just marketing. Ever paranoid about my backups, I bought some. ;)

The other options are LightScribe, printable CDs with certain Epson printers, and stick-on labels.

i bought a light scribe dvd burner but due to the cost of the scribable disks bought a cd sharpie and use that much more...actually forgot i had the light scribe till mark mentioned it and could have used it when i moved all my pics offline( smack self in forhead smilie)
