DS was born last December. I've picked out pictures for a photo calendar to give the grandparents for Christmas. They have to be ordered today from Walgreens to get the great sale price. The picture I picked out for December is obviously from last Christmas when DS was 3 weeks old. Do I start the calendars with December so there is a natural age progression - and then give them the calendars on Thanksgiving as an early Christmas present. Or start them with January and have the last picture be -at the time - two years old? I am leaning towards starting with December but I would like some other opinions. Thanks!

Hmmm, that's a toughie. I'm digitally scrapbooking for a calendar right now and I'm doing general progression too, but I'm only up to May. I guess it just depends on when you really want to give them the calendar. They will most likely be just as happy looking at the tiny baby next xmas (and remembering that wonderful time) as they would now. I think it's a great gift idea btw.

I create calendars as gifts too - but give them at Christmas. That way I can take an early December pic of the kids for Christmas and it will be included on the December page. I use the traditional Jan - Dec calendar.

It's a lot more work, but I create these on my computer at home, and print them off on a home color printer. This way I can customize any family holidays (I give three versions of the calendar - my mom's family, my dad's family and my husband's family) and customize pictures for each group as well. I buy heavy duty photo paper, and I usually have to buy additional ink cartridges, and it usually costs about $100 each year - I create about 12 calendars.

Our color printer is not high quality. So we cant do our own. The coupon I have is buy one for $19.99, each additional is 50% off. I need 6. So each one will be $11.65. After checking around, this is the best deal out there. Even Sams Club is more expensive.

We do this too. We are planning on getting the Christmas hats out this week and taking a picture now with the kids with the hats on to use for the dec. picture. By the way, where did you get that coupon? That price sounds great!

I did this last year for the family and took an early December picture (probably in late Nov) for the calendar. DD was born in Feb-so the January picture was actually one of her at about 6 months and then I followed progression. I was going to include a picture of me at my shower-nice and pregnant but didn't want that hanging up at everyone's house! I just picked a cute one. Anyway-get out a santa hat and take the picture now! It'll be cute!
