Photo book question

I know that I've read a lot of posts about people here who make Photo Books.

I want to make a Photo Book of DS's senior pictures. I've never done this before, so I'm unfamiliar with the different companies.

I do know that some companies glue the books together, and others stitch them together. And of course, there's bound to be some difference in print quality.

From your experience, what is the best company to go with, with a reasonable cost? Cost is important to me, but I am willing to pay a little more for a quality product...especially the bound stitching. I'd appreciate your opinions and experiences. :)

p.s. I know someone is going to say something about me using professional senior pictures for a Photo Book. popcorn:: It's all good...I bought the photographic rights from the photographer. :)

I ordered my wedding book from Wal Mart and I was satisfied with it. I ordered a book for DH for Christmas last year when snapfish was running a promo and it is much nicer. I think regularly it would've been around $30.

If I were doing something that fancy and special, I'd use a fancier site. I got a simple book of some of my nicer photos from inkubook dot com, and it was GORGEOUS. They use paper with silk in it, or something strange but lovely like that.

I don't know about the binding though.

Good call, by the way, on noting that you had bought the rights! :)

I would recomend Shutterfly, They have good quality...I would avoid snapfish, their binding stinks!

Maybe you got a bad book. My book is bound together just fine.

I don't know...All I know is that the pages are not connected all that well...I'm glad that yours turned out well though...

I used Disney's photobook last trip and my girlfriend showed me hers from Shutterfly-very nice. I don't think you can go wrong!

Very nice book and your girls are beautiful little princesses. I especially like the page with the tree and four other pics. After seeing this, I'd recommend Shutterfly too!!!

Thanks for the compliments. My girls are the most photographed girls in the world, haha.. but someday I think they will be happy to have a treasure like a photobook. :)

I am also a fan of Shutterfly and have always been pleased with their service and quality and I've made around 6 books with them over the last few years. Have fun! :)

I've made many books with shutterfly and a couple from other places. My favorite is shutterfly because of the many many different choices of backgrounds and layouts to choose from. I loved the book I made from snapfish, but there were not as many choices of backgrounds and layouts to choose from. I personally don't care for the companies that make you download their tools in order to make a book. Any company you choose, have fun and enjoy the end result! I think it is a great way to keep and display your pictures.

I used mypublisher.com and got 2books for the price of one. I LOVE the way they came out! Great quality

Shutterfly is great!

However I made our Disney book on blurb.com. It was 80 pages on premium paper for less than $45 including shipping.

I thought the print quality was ever so slightly worse than Shutterfly's, but it was way better than Snapfish.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. :)

Has anyone ever used Artscow for a photo book? I see that they sew the pages together (not glued), but I'm wondering how the photo quality is.

shutterfly is still running their sale on books
up to 100 pages are included at no extra cost

but gee books take a LONG time to do

How did you find the details of the 100 page sale at Shutterfly? Which size/cover option is that? I went to their website, but it just says 20% off. :confused3

Shutterfly offers different deals to different people. I think it has to do with what and how often you order.
