Photo Assignment: Seasonal '07: Autumn

looks like ours will be a repeat of last yr, green>bare trees..i might take a drive this afternoon and see if farther south they have leaves left:)

A few from some of our autumn traditions - Renaissance Faire and playing in the leaves:

We haven't had much for fall color yet this year, but there is enough to make a nice backdrop for shots of the river:

We still have leaves in SW Ohio. In fact, almost nothing has fallen yet. I have a feeling we won't have much color this year and one day we'll have a good strong wind and all the leaves will be on the ground. :(

That's pretty much how it is looking here in SE Michigan too. We haven't had much color this year at all; the leaves are just going stright to brown and falling. This weird weather we've had (from a/c to heat in 3 days' time! ) is messing up the usual fall transitions.

We visited the mountains on a work trip for DW and decided to extend our visit to see the colors. They really hadn't started very much, but we were rewarded with a special treat when we visited Mt. Mitchell! The clouds were providing enough moisture at that elevation for a special treat:thumbsup2

For leaving my post without the pics all night. They goofed up and it was going to take me a long time to fix them last night. Hope you enjoy them.

I've been looking for color, but hadn't found much til today. Most of the bright trees were right behind some big phone poles and wires. Here's a few from ipswich.

We went out to the State Fair of Texas yesterday. Here's several shots from day and night. I didn't get as many daytime shots as I wanted to because it literally took us over 2 hours to get parked once we got to Fair Park. It was just the worst chaos I've ever seen there. As such, by the time we parked, got through the gates, and knocked down a couple of Fletcher's corny dogs (priority #1  ), it was already 6pm before I fired up the camera.

The first bunch are from my backyard, taken late in the day as the sun was going down. We've been having lots of rain this October, so it was nice to get out and get some pictures. All were taken using my Rebel XTi and Sigma 17-70 mm f2.8-4.5 lens.

The last raspberries (to high up for the kids or our dog to reach:) )

Thank you. Those are some great fall colors in your shots. I'd love to see the fall foliage in your area at some point. We get "some" fall color around here but usually it's late and gone quickly.

Not a professional job by any means but will do for a quickie effort!:thumbsup2

Just matched the black up with the other black area so it blended better....now you cant see the "stroke" marks..hope that was ok!
