I am not bringing my cell phone first of all, as I only plan to make 1 (2 max) calls out from WDW the entire trip.

last year, I made 2 calls to Canada

10 mins each (possibly under) on my reg. home phone "call me" card!

OUCH
together is cost me $58 USD

Can I buy a phone card somwhere, that is alot cheaper to call out?

I will be going to wallmrt the first day I get to WDW can I get something there?

If you have a cell phone I would bring it. You have a child what if he gets lost isn't the cell the easiest way to find you? If you didn't have a phone that would be one thing, but you've already taken that step. Also what if something happens at home isn't this the quickest way to reach you?

I won't activate the voicemail on my phone (manage minutes and long winded msgs), but I have caller ID, so if I miss a call I can return it or ignore one. ;)

Finally, my mother and I didn't plan to get separated, but we did several times and used the cell phones to link back up. Also she had some phone trouble and it was good to have mine as a back up.

I agree about taking the cell phone with you for the above mentioned reasons. To answer your question though yes Wal-Mart sells phone cards.

i dont bring my cell at all , i dont want to be distracted by home etc. plus my son always has a walkie talkie with him for this reason

so I can just buy a card at wallmart, do you then just call a 1-800# or something?

:)

First of all do you live in Canada? Then do you live in Ontario? If you do, you likely have Bell Canada. You can get a family contact card. When you use this only from a payphone you can call directly to that person and it is like calling from Toronto to your house. So for example: We leave and head to Florida and WDW and when we get there my mom has given us her family contact card. I call her with the directions on the back of the card and it only charges the fee it would cost to call from her house in Guelph to Toronto. If you have anymore questions let me know.:wizard: Those long distance telephone bills can kill a trip. The first year we called her and was only on for a few minutes and it cost my mom 40.00.:scared1:
