Sadly my mother can not join us on our trip in January after all. I had contacted Disney through email first (thanks to them not having a toll free number) to have my aunt put on in place of my mom, and this is what I received back:

We are saddened to hear about your mother. We hope she will recover soon
and be able to join you. However, if it is not possible, please contact
the Disney Reservation Center at 1-407 828-8101 as this department is
not accessible through e-mail. Hours are 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM Eastern
Standard Time. One of our specially trained agents will be happy to help
you with modifying your reservation to include your aunt. Once you have
spoken to them, they can transfer you to the Internet Help Desk and they
can transfer the Disney FastPass+® selections from your mother to your
aunt.


Ok so when I phone, should I expect any problems to arise with the transferring of fp+? I do NOT want them to wipe out what I have booked. I'm SO nervous about all of this!!!!
 
If you are nervous about any mess-ups, just have your Aunt show up in place of your Mother. She can wear the assigned MagicBand and use all the FPs that are scheduled in your MDE account.

Your Aunt doesn't have to show ID for anything if you are covering all costs. The CMs at the entrance tapstiles and FP lines don't care who is using the MagicBand. When your Aunt first enters a park, they will scan her finger at that time.

Ya what Itinkso said should work just fine. I can't think of ever having to show my ID when I wasn't the main person at check in, etc.

I don't think that would work, as my aunt will want to put her own cc on to her magic band when we check in to make her own purchases for the week as I am quite certain she will want to shop. lol
 

The credit card is attached to the room reservation account. At check-in your Aunt can give her credit card info and show ID for the card and it will be added to your room account. All charges from the MB your Aunt uses can be assigned to her credit card at the resort level.
 
Credit cards are not attached to the magic band. They are attached to the room account. Your aunt can have her own band and have that activated for charging on the room account. She can even ask if she can assign her own credit card for her portion of the room account. She can also carry a band assigned to your mother, and use that to access the fast passes, if you do not want to do anything to transfer the fast passes to your aunt's account rather than your mother's. However, you would have to have both your mother and your aunt registered on your room reservation to do this. So you would still have to call them to have your aunt added to the reservation. You cannot do this via e-mail, as they have already informed you.

I don't know what success you will have in having your aunt's name substituted for your mother's at check-in, or whether they will allow you to just keep your mother's name on the account and then get your aunt to assign a credit card to a room account that is registered in someone else's name.
 
I would do as others suggest. She can always just shop with her credit card itself instead of the magic band too. They only check the id for the person who made the reservation and is the main name, so for all they know she is the name you put as the additional person. Unless your Mom booked the room herself and is the primary person, I wouldn't mess with it. I wouldn't trust the FP+ being okay. WDW has my name wrong in their system, they run my middle and last name together as 1 last name. Our last trip a couple of months ago when we checked in the CM said "oh I will just fix that and get the name right" and the manager heard him and came running over yelling "Nooo! Don't touch anything! If you do there is a big chance it might confuse the system and cause all her Fast passes to be wiped out". He said the system is working a lot better than it did at first and doesn't have near as many issues, but it can still be glitchy at times
