Phone or Computer, which works best?

Like other people, I'm still trying to add a couple of ADRs that I couldn't get at my 90-day mark. Someone might cancel I keep thinking, and I might just happen to check at just the right time on just the right day.

But that brings up some questions ...

1. Am I more likely to get the ADR I want by phone, or via the computer?

2. If I'm checking for ADRs on the computer, does it matter if I take the time to log in and enter my room reservation number every time I look for an ADR? Will that make it any more likely that I'll get the ADR I'm seeking?

This making of ADRs by computer is new to me, and I'm really not sure what I'm doing. Any advice or tips?

1. I've booked my ADRs using both methods. Using the computer is generally quicker, though sometimes it's nice to speak to a human being, you know? But in my experience, the likelihood of getting your preferences is the same with either option.

2. You don't have to log in; when you go to book at a specific restaurant, there will be an option to pull up your vacation reservation. It's important to do that so that your ADRs are tied to your vacation, but you don't have to be logged into Disney's site to do so.

Also, the "new day" starts over at 3 am, which basically means that the computers change over and the systems update - including any cancels done the previous day - so you're more likely to get your first choices of ADRs. That's why lots of people literally get up at 3 am to book online, but if you do get your first choice, it's worth it. Be sure to pay attention to the 90-day window, the good restaurants book fast.

Thanks for the reply. The info on the "new day" time was expecially interesting. I doubt that I'll get up at 3:00 am to try and get an ADR, but it's good to know anyhow.
