Hi everybody. I am a spring CP hopeful :) I passed the WBI and have my phone interview Tuesday at 1. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what kinds of questions they're going to ask or if there's just anything I should be aware of in general. My top choice is definitely merchandise, but I don't know if they will ask me about that or not... Also, does anyone know if we can request a certain place we would like to work?? I'd LOVE to work in tattoine traders / star tours or at least in Hollywood Studios.

Thanks!!! :D and good luck to everyone else applying!

Just passed the web interview today and I'm looking for advice for my phone interview! Good luck to you as well! :goodvibes

If you go on the "Spring Advantage 2012" thread there is a list of possible questions and answers.

Also, you dont need to ramble. When they ask a question and you answer they are typing your response into a computer. They will be silent so dont keep talking until you get a response.

Overall, dont be nervous, be happy and energetic and think for a second or two before you answer.

Smile. It sounds silly but when you speak they can tell when you're smiling.:goodvibes Good luck!

Make notes for yourself of all your past experience, why you want to work for Disney, and why you would be good for the roles your requested. Also think of some situational questions for those roles (what to do with a kid too short for a ride, etc.). Don't read off the paper, but read it a few times before your interview and keep it on hand during the interview.

I am WAAAAYYYYY too old for the CP (actually, DD is applying) but I have had many phone interviews, so here's some suggestions:

Pay attention to what the interviewer is asking. Don't let your mind jump ahead to what you think the question might be, or float to something else because you are on the phone, not face to face.

Turn off the radio, TV, etc. so you aren't distracted.

Go potty, get a glass of water, get a pad of paper and pen ready.

Take a breath before answering. Give the interviewer time to finish the question; don't jump in with an answer too eagerly.

Be concise, answer the question, don't drag it out.

Phone interviews are challenging, and brain research has shown that we use different parts of our brains when chatting on the phone than we do when talking in person, making it harder to pay attention. If you are aware of this, you probably can overcome it! Good luck!

You are never too old to do the cp! You can only be too young as you have to be at least 18 to apply! :thumbsup2
I worked with a lady who had grown kids and her husband let her come out to do the spring advantage program. As long as you're enrolled in school, you can do it! :goodvibes

I actually found the phone interview to be much easier. I had notes on hand incase I drew a blank and I felt comfortable just knowing that. I did really well on mine and got BBB for fall 2010, now I'm part-time. I did that for the campus rep interview as well and was accepted, but I ended up turning it down.

I just got done with my phone interview!! I think it went well but it was very very short, only about 10 mins long. My interviewer talked SO FAST and the questions were very general. I was expecting it to be a lot harder and more in depth with situational questions. She basically just asked if I could perform the roles I'm most interested in, my work history, and if I could follow the disney look and whatnot. So to all you hopefuls who haven't had your phone interview yet, DON'T stress about it. It's really simple :) At the very end I made sure to request working in my favorite park, Hollywood Studios, and she then went on to ask me how many times I've been to Disney and what my favorite rides were and stuff. So just make sure you let your personality show and have fun :)

Don't worry about the time! Mine was somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes long.

I had my phone interview last Wednesday. Smile on the phone, make sure you emphasize how much you really want this, be calm and speak clearly, speak energetically, and be sure and ask your recruiter some questions.
