Any tips on places to charge phones at the parks? I would greatly appreciate it. Traveling with 5 teens and 1 tween and they are grumpy without those phones!! LOL :rotfl2:

My understanding is that you can leave phones with guest services in any park and they will charge them. I know there have been more charge stations throughout the park, but I'm not sure if they're still around.

The more common advice on these boards is to buy inexpensive portable pocket-type chargers/boosters for each phone and simply connect these up when the phones need charging.

You just continue to use the phones as they are charging while you continue to carry them.

Some can be found HERE.

There are many, many more available from Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc.

Do your family a favor and buy a few of the portable chargers. They are pretty much a park necessity.

They do have charging stations also. We were sitting in the Country Bears lobby charging our phones (one of the few places we found regular plug-ins that wasn't crowded) and the CM came over talking. He asked if we knew there were charging stations and said they even have the phone cords in them. They are small lockers that you put your phone in and take the key, then come back in a little while and get them. He told me where they were in the MK, but I don't remember exactly - I think they were around Space Mtn somewhere....

The portable pocket chargers are definately the way to go. They also sell charging cases for most phones now too. With a charging case fully charged you would easily get the full day out of it.

They removed the charging stations back in September.

They made it sound like they broke too easily, so Disney movies removed them. It's a good idea to avoid public charging stations, as some of them have been infected with phone viruses.

(Using your own AC plug in is OK)

Portable battery packs are definately best in Disney.

The formal charging stations where you could leave your phone locked up and come back for it where taken out back in September. But there are still various outlets and even some USB outlets around. But I do agree to invest in a portable charger. No one wants to be tethered to an outlet painfully waiting for that battery percentage to go up.

I have a Jackery phone charger which was about $40, but they have smaller and more inexpensive ones as well. On a full charge, it can charge 2-3 devices full, depending on how drained the battery is to start. It takes about 10 hours to fully charge the Jackery again, so we just keep it plugged in overnight. Works great!

There are lot of outlet in the new Repunzel's bathroom area. A whole outdoor seething area, the plugs are at the tables I think.

In Epcot in the living with the land building there is a Movie theater for a lion king conservation style movie. There are plug outlets along the back wall.

There are outlets in the Electric Umbrella in Epcot also.

I recently purchased a second charger--one to use, and one to leave plugged in in the room.

If you have any of the popular Android phones, most have swappable batteries, simply pop off the back, take out drained battery, pop in a fresh one, put the back on and you are set to go. Charge both at the resort overnight. No cable, chargers electric outlets needed. I always carry a spare in the parks.

I always think of this 'wallhugger' commercial when I see this question pop up here.

I just purchased my external charger that 'says' will last up to 10 hours, so I am hoping it will be sufficient. I'm the only one that will be carrying a device with me, not a phone but an ipod, so I'm sure it will be good enough.

Gone. I tried them when they were there and they weren't working.

We carry battery chargers for doing so in line and where ever.

But a no cost option is to have everyone bring their plug/cord. You can literally plug in anywhere you see an outlet or the couple charging areas like by Rapunzel bathrooms. I've sat in a quiet corner of a gift shop during rain and charged. I charged sitting on a bench at Innoventions having a snack. Use Tomorrowland Terrace when it's closed, several outlets. Find a table to eat next to a plug in quick service. Even charged in Yak & Yeti one time during dinner. Multi-task. Lots of plugs everywhere, just need your cord.

This - or buy extra batteries for the phones if you can. I have an HTC Rezound, which has a back that opens for battery removal. I ordered an extra battery as well as a portable charger. The extra battery was all I needed...did end up changing it out once/day, but didn't end up needing the portable charger in the parks.

Also, MDE ate up my battery very fast. The days I used MDE the most were when my battery died the fastest. So the teens may want to limit their use of the app if battery life is a concern.

Which are the best portable chargers? (We each have an iPhone 5s.)

mAh is the main spec you are looking at. That is the battery capacity. The iPhone 5s has a 1570mAh battery

So a 3000mAh portable charger would basically recharge both phones once and is probably the minimum you want.

Beyond that, you are considering how big you are willing to carry comfortably and if you want the ability to charge 2 phones at the same time.
