Hi, on our last trip we bought a phone card that we used to phone back to the U.K from our hotel room and public phones. I cant for the life of me remember which online company we bought it from. Can anyone recommend one that they have used.
many thanks

Why not use Skype?
There are also dozens of free apps which give free calls over Wifi.
If calling a mobile, FaceTime, Google Hangouts - which include video calls, all free on wifi which is everywhere.
Haven't used anything else in the last 10 years or so...I do remember the daysof phone cards, but no idea which we used.

Oh, and if you're on 3, you can just use your minutes allowances as normal. It's part of their Feel at Home deal which is complimentary.

Hi kath2003 I would but DH mum doesn't own a computer let alone know how to use one and although my dad does have a computer I can imagine the problems of trying to get them to use skype, as for phones mine and DH parents only have basic pay as u go phones with no internet. bless themo_O

You can use Skype to call regular phone numbers; just buy some credit. It's like 1p per minute for landlines and about 7p per minute for mobiles. You can buy it before you go or when you're there. It's as cheap as any phone card. The bonus is that you can use the remainder when you return. You can also use it to call the US at similar rates - we have used it to call hotels etc. prior to departure.

oh, maybe its me who needs a lesson on skype :rolleyes1lol. thanks for the info Kath2003 will look into it. :magnify:
