Phone card from the post office

Has anyone used the pre paid phonecard that you can buy from the post office? was it OK & easy to use?

Does the cost work out OK?

on previous visits to Florida we have bought a phone card over there from the supermarket. But next month we are flying to Las Vegas. We don't plan to visit any supermarkets and are unsure where to buy a card from.

we would be using public pay phones.

So thought to buy one from the Post Office before we go.

I used one of these once - it was easy to use, but not good value compared to the cards you can buy over there.

I can understand your dilema, as you won't want to be caught without a card when you need it. I think, in your position, I'd buy the PO card to know I had one, but just accept that it might well be a more expensive way of going about making calls. Convenience would win over value in this instance

We used the ones from Boots, which I presume are a similar thing. They cost us £20 and lasted us right until the last day.

Sue - I've no personal experience of this, but my Vegas guidebook says you can buy them on the Strip in various places - if you like I can look up where exactly??

Hi,
I bought a PO phone card last month but I returned it as it said it did not work from USA pay phones. I know this sounds odd but that's what it said. I just a bought a Virgin Holidays one when we arrived at the resort. Last time we were in Vegas I noticed most hotel gift shops had phone cards though.

I must say I find E-Kall quite good you can go online to check balance and top up, we have had our card now since 2002.

Ekall are very easy to use, if you do ring they are often based in Australia!

We just use Orange mobile. Not that expensive, seems to work everywhere and you don't have to stand at a payphone.
