Phone Calls Between Resorts

Hi there,
We are traveling to Disney on Thursday staying in the Grand Floridian for 9 nights. We are getting married next Wednesday and will be having guests staying at other Disney Resorts. My question is how easy is it to call other people in other resorts from our room? Will we have to call there reception and ask to be put through to their room or can we call their room direct? How much do these calls cost? I've read on another board that calls from the room can be very expensive.

For guests in your same hotel, you can dial the room directly if you know it. Otherwise just dial 0 for the hotel operator.

For guests in other Disney hotels, instead of calling the hotel from your room and incurring a charge for a local call, call your hotel operator and tell them you want to be connected with guest x at y resort. They will put the call through with no charge.

If you have cell phones with coverage, use them.

Of course with the cell phones you may have to step outside your room. I saw a lot of people having to do that at CSR Thanksgiving week, including myself.

Dialing 0 is free, and they will connect you to whomever you wish to speak to as long as you know the room number, and the last name on the reservation.

You can even call from the parks if you use a house phone, such as at guest services.

I ahve called to several resorts down there, and never had a charge...just call the front desk and ask them to connect you to the resort or guest room at that resort.

Thanks for this info, we will be down next week and though we asked for connecting rooms ( we have 4 teenages with us, actually they are 19, 20, and 21 ). It will be nice to be able to ring them without using the our cell phones if we don't happen to get connecting rooms.
