Inspired by a conversation I was having with another poster earlier.

Yeah. Phobias. Do you have any? If so, are they common or strange? Something that the average person wouldn't think twice about, but youre terrified of.

I do. I only have one real phobia, and that is Crickets. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them.

So what are you deathly afraid of?

I know I made this thread awhile ago, but I'm reposting, because if I remember correctly, it didn't do so well the first time around. and I felt like talking about it again.

Deathly afraid of Snakes, and rats. they're just gross.

Needles. I hate them. I have to get blood drawn once a month and I hate it.

Embarrassment.

I only fear being embarrassed in a couple of situations. One being my English class. I'm in an honors literature class with the best English teacher I've ever had. (He REALLY knows what he's talking about and I have had him three times now). I'm afraid to voice my opinion in that class thinking I'll get a "translation" of a poem incorrect or my ideas will be so completely far fetched that it isn't even funny. It's a weird phobia, but hey, I'm being honest here.

My fear of being embarrassed is so large, that I've gone a day without talking simply because I feared others would think the worst of me. Heh, it's also funny because I'm can be very loud and I LOVE taking risks. It's weird, I know.

Oh and I fear ticks. lol. I can't even look at them in pictures let alone in real life. I can't stand ticks for all it's worth...those blood-sucking freaks of nature!!! lol.

I've got a bunch : Vomiting, Failure, Gaining Weight, Apes, Fish and Crickets.

I have 3 BIG ones. One that was already mentioned being failure. The other is dying alone. The third is squirrels. Yup, that last one sounded weird after the others but I've always been terrified of them. If I see one on the sidewalk, I'll move to the other side across the street...that is assuming that I can get the nerve to move!

Snakes, insects, and needles are my worst fears. The doctors need to call in reinforcements to hold me down when they draw my blood. The one opposite the elbow (I think it's called the crook of the arm) is the worst. And I hate how they give you the little "I faced the needle" stickers.

snakes. and dead people. seriously. snakes, im trying. i can stand in a room with one, i can be in a car with one. hold one/touch one: yeah..right. i love indian naga though, so im sorta an oxy-moron on that.

I'm afraid of maggots, worms, slugs, snails, and pretty much everything slimy.
I am also afraid of the Dark and of bieng alone.

I'm emetophobic.
Fear of puking.
Or having someone puke near me.
Some people are like 'big whoop'
I lock myself in a room to get away from the person who is sick.

...as I found out the hard way one night.

...

it's not really a phobia but I still hate them: Birds. If a bird, mostly pigeons, are on the street I get all screamish. Eww I hate them. And I also hate the fact of a bird pooing on me!!

omg i am terribly afraid of spiders! i dont know wat it is but when i see one i just start shaking and hyperventilating, sometimes i get an asthma attack and cant breathe i also cry uncontrollably! i wish i could get over this fear. its so embarassing its happened EVERYWHERE imagineable! ive almost gotten my mother into a car accident twice and i got my aunt in a car accident! my most recent one was at my friends house. we were sitting on her trampoline (there was 7 of us) and her little brother came over and was pretending that there were spiders to scare us but there wasnt (yet) and i was like omg please dont joke about that im so scared of spiders! well they all thought id just scream... a while later there was a real spider.. and a BIG one i totally froze, started hyperventillating and couldnt stop crying all my friends were in complete shock, they didnt think i was that scared they didnt no what to do it was kinda funny watching them freak out trying to figure out what to do, well about a half hour later i stopped crying and shaking after they tried calming me down, and we obviously went inside.
my parents are considering making me go to a psychiatrist to try and get me less or not scared anymore. idk if it will work. a friend told me of a story about a girl with the exact reaction as me and in the end of her "treatment" she was able to hold a tarrantula, i could NEVER imagine being able to do that! i just dont want to freak anymore
sorry that was so long

At the end of fifth grade, we had to walk over to the Middle School for an orientation/tour. This was a few years ago. As we walked back, a girl im my class with really light blond hair had this happen to her. It got in her hair, and she started screaming. I realize that it must have been gross, but that didn't stop everyone from laughing.

Not a phobia but I hate them. Birds. Mina birds and crows mainly. When you have a sit on your shoulder and just sit there and scare the ert034rr4e outta you then...well....

Germs. I am deathly afraid of them. :lmao: :lmao:

It really is not that funny. That is what I meant when I said "People who make fun of you for a certain fear" on the thread about pet peeves. There was this kid at school who kept saying "I have got germs" over and over again. :duck: :duck: :duck: :worried:
