I Haven't flown in over two years... what can I expect for a flight price? We usually fly southwest and could always bank on flying for under 100 each way. I have flown fot 59, 89 and I think the most was 109. What should I expect for this August?

Southwest flights are up for August so you can price your exact dates.

We are flying PHI to MCO late August and booked at $89 each way - same flights are now $110 each way.

SWA is open through August, so have you checked rates for your dates yet? Looks like doing a little spot checking gives fares around $160 each way. Later in August, rates are $110.

It has been $110 for awhile, which is not TOO bad, when you figure they have no luggage fees,etc. I would book at $110 and take a credit if it dropped later. I also went by the $99 rule for a long time, but I think $110 is reasonable now with fuel prices, etc.

Yes I have checked. Our dates are 8/7 to 8/12 and they are listed around 200 each way, I'm praying fof them to drop

Can you fly out of BWI? I usually find cheaper fares out of there vs. PHL. I'd expect to pay a little more than normal. When we flew in December from BWI we paid $104 for the way down and $95 for the way back. The year prior (May 2009) we flew from BWI and only paid $54 each way. I think we won't ever see prices like that again. Good luck. I hope you find something that is affordable for you.

Just checked thursday 8/25-thursday 9/01

early flight (7am) non stop down to orlando the fare is $160 pp.
the cheapest flight that day is $110 bucks but thats a 5 hour flight with a stop and plane change.

coming back the cheapest was $137

Total air for 4 is 1159.

I got an airtran flight for $817. non stop, and this was after I added in picking my seats both ways and 1 checked bag both way.

My best deal ever was Airtran..Oct of '09 $472 total (minus bags) for 4 tickets Non-stop...BWI to MCO..we live 3 hours away from BWI but for those prices it is well worth it.

Heck this year I'll be happy to see $1000 total....I don't ever think I'll see under $500 again.

Our flights with SW are cheaper flying out of PHL vs Balt. We would prefer to fly out of Balt, but the flights are almost $100. more PP. Our flights out of PHL are $110. each way for non-stops at great times, so we grabed them. If they go down we will just get some credit. Flights have only went up so far, and are at $137. PP each way now. Doesnt sound like much but that adds $270. to our fares if we had waited. Dont really see them going down any time soon.
It was only a few years ago when we were flying for $59. & $69. pp each way on SW !!! Those were the days !!!

I'm beginning to think that the way to go is to wait and book air FIRST. Pick the cheaper flight dates, THEN book everything else. Air seems to be the most volatile prices of anything you could book for vacation.
