PHL to MCO

We always do a park and fly because we usually take the earliest flight of the day to try to get the most in at the park. Since it is a two hour drive for us to the airport it just almost seems necessary. :)

somewhere between $44 and $79 each way. I just booked our Dec trip and it was $59.

I bought our tickets this morning :cool1:

I got them on SW for our family of five the total was $685 or $137 a piece!
I have never flown SW and I'm not sure how I feel about it after watching a couple of shows of the reality based TV program of SW? Do you have any tips to flying SW (that is if I need them)?

The hard part was figuring out the time. I really wanted to get there in the morning, but in the end I decided that a 6:30 am flight was probably not a great way for us to start our trip so I booked the 10:30 am flight and then the last flight out on the way home. I'm so excited that our flight down won't take up the whole day like it did traveling from Denver.

I'm going to look over your suggestions on parking.

Thanks everyone!

We went to WDW for the 1st time this past May. We flew SW and got $34 for the way down and $39 for the way back...$368 total for 4 of us roundtrip. We stayed at the Comfort Inn in Essington for $140 (free parking for 14 days instead of 7) and it included a great continental breakfast...even make your own belgium waffles. The shuttle van to and from the airport was efficient and friendly and the rooms were roomy and superclean. There is a diner next door that had really good food and wasn't too expensive....we ate there the night before our flight. Oh and the hotel has fresh baked cookies and milk out in the early evening for a snack-YUMMY! Plus all of the staff we encountered at the CI were very friendly to our kids...even gave them free foam airplanes.

PHL to MCO via Southwest: Our upcoming trip is $49 pp/each way.
Cherry Hill, NJ to PHL: $115 each way from James Limo in Cherry Hill.

Sort of puts it in perspective why many airlines are losing money.

Yes, how SWA stays "in the black" is a wonder to me! :confused3

We're from NE PA (2 hours north of PHL) and drive the 2 hours to PHL just to fly SW...........we literally have a local airport in our backyard served by Delta, USAirways, and United, however, the prices are outrageous and cannot get a ns flight, so it takes us about 6 1/2 hours to get to MCO. So......we drive to PHL and use SW (which we LOVE) and with our drive time and flight time we're at MCO in about 4 1/2 hours. Our last three trips we've paid $137 rd trp including all taxes (that's $59 ow). As far as transportation to PHL, we usually rent a full size from Budget at our local airport for a one way and then drop it in PHL and do the same for return......we find this to be less trouble and less expensive than parking at PHL for a week. It usually runs us about $75 both rentals. We usually try to get a late morning flight so we can leave our house no earlier than 7:00 a.m. to be at PHL by 9:30 a.m. allowing an extra half hour for any traffic we might encounter on the turnpike or I-95 (which we're only on for about 6 miles anyway). Our flight for October is 11:55 a.m., so, we'll leave the house about 7:30 a.m. So, IMO, definitely SW is the way to go from PHL!!!!! :cheer2:

Here are some reasons on how they do that.
They consistently review their procedures to find "other" ways to save since fuel costs are so flippin high. They have the highest paid pilots and yet they continue to profit. They fly the same type of plane so that cuts down on training costs for example, too. And they do not get bogged down with the costs of the "hub and spoke" concept, which is now bogging down the other majors. They have huge major domiciles, but they spread them around better and their people, and they have certain non-stop routes that the others won't touch...that keeps more planes full more of the time.

Unfortunately my bil and fil are/were piolits that are feeling the heat from their airlines that they work/ed for. It's not a good situation for them.

Last year for Halloween we went to Disney forthe MNSSHP and we had originally purchased our tickets thru USA3000 awesome deal$59 each way! Around apprx august they cancelled our outgoing flight! then our return flight a few days later! So luckily I found Southwest for $59!!! And we were set! This time we are going over Easter and I am a lil worried about airfare! I hear it maybe on the high side so we are going to use either Southwest or Airtran whomever has the better deal!! Southwest was great no complaints! :thumbsup2 Also for parking you can use the Pacifico dealer at the phila automall only minutes from the airport they will drop you off in youre vehicle and they will pick you up you call them when you get to baggage claim! And they wash the vehicle and it is behind a locked gate the entire time!

BTW - if you live anywhere outside Philly, and are willing to travel a little, BWI's prices are usually cheaper than PHL's, and they have wonderful garage parking that is inexpensive and easy to get to/from.

We got two round trip tix from BWI to MCO for 210.52 total.

Just paid $59 (around $68 after taxes and fees) one way from PHL to MCO for December on Southwest.
