This is true but you have to look at the whole picture. It only costs $5 per day to park at the AC airport. And even though it's 25 minutes farther to drive than Philly, it's an easy on/off, no horrendous security lines, convenient parking, the plane never has to wait for a gate, assigned seats, etc, etc.

Plus I end up spending money during the inevitable wait time in Philly. I think our overall *transit* time is much less even though the AC airport is farther away.

Either way, don't book your flights yet. Start looking over the summer.

so true and I have flown out of AC before (long ago when parking was free) but every time I compare their prices, Spirit has been several hundred more. (there's 4 of us) It just wasn't worth it.

Wow, we're paying $69 each way for Pres Week, paid $49 each way in August, and paid $54 each way last February.

Maybe you'll get lucky. Airfare is such a crapshoot these days.

We've done pretty well on airfare lately- we just got back from a Christmas trip. We ended up having a huge headache with airfares, but our favorites are either AirTran or Spirit out of AC. SW always releases their fares later than I'm willing to wait. I always like to have everything squared away well in advance. I would definitely wait on SW or AirTran. AirTran always seems to release specials about 2 months ahead of time.

We just got back on a Christmas-New Year's Eve trip. We got $99 on AirTran on the way down, and also $99 on the way back on US Airways. We booked separate one-way tickets, and everything worked out just fine. Usually, we would want something in the $79 range, but for a holiday trip I was glad just to get something for $99.
