What is the best place for us to park and fly at PHL this August?

We stayed at the Hyatt last time and it was very nice. How can I get my best price for that or any other recommended locations?

TIA!

In March 2006 we stayed at the Ramada in Essington. I asked this very question prior to booking it and got mixed reviews from other DISers about the Ramada. Some called it old and run down, but we found it to be totally suitable for our needs. Our trip was for 11 days and we needed a lot of free parking, Ramada gives 14 days in a gated, guarded lot adjacent to the hotel. The free shuttle got us to our 6 am flight in good order and on the return we called on a free phone at PHL and we were picked up quickly.

At the bar by the lobby the night before we got a nice Reuben and a few brews for a reasonable price, our room was not new, but clean and everything worked. I understand they've since started renovations. We're going to drive to PHL the night before our Oct. trip and I'll stay here again unless I find a better deal. Last time we paid $107, I haven't priced our Oct. stay yet.

Just looked at your ID, Hi, how's it going?

I like a $107 rate. I'll have to check this out! I haven't decided yet if we're going to stay a night before and a night after or just the night before. We fly in at 9:45 p.m. and thinking about driving home with 3 snoring bodies isn't all that appealing to me. ;) But, if I don't suck it up and drive home, I know that my DH will want to go to Nordstroms on the way home to spend some $$$.

We've been good. Friends of ours were at the Fork and the Cork last Friday night. They said that it was a nice affair and they liked the favors. I'll have to see if I can scab up some tickets for that for next year.

Hi,
We are flying to/from MCO/PHL in august. I am wondering what you are talking about with the parking for PHL ??? I checked the PHL website, and they offer parking for about $9. per day for the economy lot. Shuttles that go to the terminals run, I think,24/7. Is it just more secure to park your car at a hotel and pay the 1 nights rate, and park for a week or 2 ???
Sorry if this question seems dumb, but I just figured that the PHL airport parking would be fine.........wouldnt it??? I mean, worst case scenerio........if our vehicle was vandalized or stolen........we have insurance to cover it.
Just wondering what you are talking about ???? We DONT need to stay overnight before or after our flight.
Thanks Syndrome

We stayed at the Comfort inn in Essington last May and did Park-in-fly. It cost $140 and included free parking for 2 wks, free cont. brkfst.(lots to choose from) and there's a nice diner next door that we ate dinner at the night we checked in. It was very clean, comfortable and the shuttle service was excellent! We'd stay ther again in a heartbeat!

The last time we didn't need to stay over before our flight, we parked in the Avistar lot. It was cheaper than parking in the LT lot. With a coupon from this website: http://www.longtermparking.com/penn.htm the parking is only $7.95 per night. You leave your keys with them.

My brother found a place to which you drive and they go with you to the airport in your car so there is no transferring of luggage to a shuttle. They take your car back to their lot after dropping you off at your terminal. When you arrive, they pick you up at baggage claim and hand the keys back to you. They get their own ride back to the parking lot. That's what we'd do if we weren't leaving so early in the morning. I can find out which lot it was if you'd like me to do that.

The difference between LT airport parking and offsite parking is a matter of saving a few dollars, IMHO.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn years ago and had a horrible shuttle experience. The front desk actually told me that the driver liked to take their shuttle to his GF's house when he was on duty. A fire-able offense, if you ask me.

I wound up taking a taxi back to the hotel with 2 other women who were stranded with me at the airport. I wrote to the manager and got my money back for the taxi ride.

I recall the hotel being nice. Thanks for your review. Maybe I'll give them another chance.

WOW...that really shocks me! Our driver was considerate, friendly, on-time and a very safe driver. We didn't even have to call for the shuttle when we arrived back in Philly as he was right outside waiting for us after we got our luggage.
