Has anyone ever used the Philosophy Makeup Optional Skincare System?

I looked at it when I was last in Ulta, but couldn't bring myself to spend the $78-98 for the kit when I have not used any Philosophy products.

I know that Ulta, QVC and Sephora all have their own special "kits." Any deals out there?

I have lots of redness in my complexion and I would be thrilled if my skin were pretty enough to go "makeup optional."

TIA for your opinions.

I bought a philosophy face kit geared to mild. Acne and it was worthless it didn't help at all was as substantial as water I switched to clnique and it is worlds better! Philosophy was a total waste of money

I guess it all depends on each person's likes and skin types. But I have found just the opposite of the previous poster. I love Philosophy and all of their products I have tried. To me, it is way better than Clinique and I used to work at a Clinique counter!

I haven't used that one, but I've really enjoyed the Jump Starters kit. I'm not sure Sephora sells that one, but I've seen it on drugstore.com. I think they both use the same wash, the Purity? If so, be aware...it smells kinda weird. I actually had to stop using it entirely during pregnancy b/c of how it smelled! It's not bad, but it isn't exactly pleasant. Helps my skin, though!

I bought that kit and love it! I also purchased the microdermabrasion scrub...or whatever their exfoliating daily face wash is called, and that is my absolute favorite! I find that Philosophy products are gently on my sensitive skin and have really improved the tone and texture of my skin.

ETA: If you go through bing.com, you can get 10% cashback from Sephora and I believe you get free shipping on anything over $50...so that would help a little!

QVC, Ulta and Sephora will all take returns if you decide you don't like it. I however love the Purity face cleanser and the Microderm cleanser that you can use every day. Also really like the Advanced Eye Hope for under the eye. It really worked for me.

I use philosophy and love the products. They can be pricey though. I like qvc for deals. The kits are the best for trying it out. love hope in a tube eye cream, hope in a jar and the purity. Get a starter kit with these products to try it on qvc maybe and then if you like it you can purchase bigger sizes to get more product for the money. I also like when hope is not enough. and the microdelivery peel is great.

Last year I stopped using expensive facial products, and stuck simply to what I could get at CVS for cheap or free. During the winter, my skin was HORRIBLE! Dry patches that would not go away, lots of breakouts, etc... At the time I did not associate the two together.

I started with Philosophy with the Purity, Microdelivery exfoliating face wash, and the Hope in a jar kit. These were all smaller sizes, just to try it out. I really liked them, and since have purchased the Eye Hope, Microdelivery Peel, and When Hope is Not Enough. This winter I have NO dry patches and only minimal breakouts.

Philosophy.com has a sale right now - 20% off $100 purch, or 10% off $50. Free shipping on purch over $50. Enter code newyear at checkout. :goodvibes

Love Philosophy! I use both Purity and the micro delivery wash. DH and my dds use purity also. Love the hope in a jar with spf moisturizer also. I agree with buying from QVC so you can return it if you don't love it.

Another person who LOVES Philosophy. You can get deals. I use the When Hope is not Enough kit.

I am in desperate need of a new skin care regimen. I have terrible dry, flaky patches on my face and now I am starting to breakout. Has anyone tried the acne kit from Philosophy? I was trying to decide between that one and the regular one.

Just noticed that they have a *mini* makeup optional set at sephora...$50 instead of the bigger container package for $78.

I ordered the $78 kit for congested skin from philosophy.com. So, I did get the 10% off, but paid for quicker shipping because I am at my wits end with my skin. It is breaking out, but also flakey. We are in the process of adopting internationally and we leave in 3 weeks. This problem may be stress related, but I really hope I get my skin straightened out before we leave because we will be gone 4-6 weeks and possibly in a region with very limited resources for beauty and skincare items.

just wondering if u started using these products and what u think?

i was following this thread as i have always bought different stuff for my skin and thought as i'm 42 years old i better start some good habits so i went to Sephora and bought the mini set! think it was a great value...$45.00! i just used the face wash purity last night and the hope in a jar..

I use Purity & the Mircodelivery exfoliating wash & switch back & forth I feel purtiy gets makeup off better. But the exfoliating wash really helps my dry patches. And I use hope in a jar for day cream & hope ina jar for dry skin for night cream. And now I am hhoked on Inner Grace for my day perfume. I started thru qvc.

I just received my set today. I am also in my early 40's. It's awful to have dry skin with breakouts!

I used it to cleanse and moisturize my face and so far, so good. I love the way it makes my face feel. I chose the exfoliating wash as one of my samples and will try that as well in the morning. I think I will probably use the Purity at night to remove makeup and use the exfoliating wash in the mornings.

Hopefully I can get my routine in order in time to order the product I will need for our trip.

Hope it works for you!

Still loving this stuff!

Today, my makeup stayed on all day and my friend at work even commented on it. Usually, after lunch, my powder is off of my cheeks and chin area. Not today! Used the exfoliating wash this morning and love it as well.

Now...if I could only truly, wear make-up as optional.... that would be great!

I ordered the basic starter kit from QVC and just received it yesterday. I used the purity last night and the micro exfoliating wash this morning along with the hope in a jar. So far it is great!!! I am already noticing less dryness and flaking!

i don't have the exfoliating wash, i have the purity and i also hav the eye cream and the retinol and hope in a jar and hope in a jar spf 20.

My skin is not dry, i guess normal/combo - i have a bit of scaring from acne and starting to get some fine lines around my eyes.

i do love the way my skin feels after washing..i'm not a huge makeup person - wear foundation 3x a week to work - am actually tryi8ng the hd makeup from Sephora, but i think i like tined moisturizer better -

not sure if i'll see a huge differenc in my skin or not, but hoping to stop the aging process!

lets keep each other posted...good luck
