Do you think we will be able to get around tomorrow? DH just went back out plowing an hour ago and says it doesn't look good. The snow stopped or will be stopping shortly but I am just curious what everyone thinks will happen tomorrow morning.....

I don't think too many people will be going anywhere Tuesday, either - although employers probably won't be terribly understanding. In the towns & cities, there's no place to go with the snow if they can actually remove it. I live on a farm & out here we have so much drifting (because of the open fields) we won't be able to get as far as the main road until at least Weds - unless we can follow a snow plow out.

I heard someone from the streets dept say that they'd get to some of the residential streets by the end of the week.

I saw a snow plow sliding on my residential street.. hows that for bad?

My DH works in Center City.. so who knows what that commute is going to be like from Camden County NJ?

As for the kids in school, my district has been off since Thursday, I would love for the kids to be learning.. but most of the kids walk to school... so no sidewalks, and I would have to walk the kids in the street. ...

Back in '96, when it snowed just a bit more than this, the kids had the whole week off from school. It takes quite a bit to plow this stuff out, especially since we got a few inches of sleet mixed in.

I guess we'll see!

Our district is a walking district (no buses), so we rarely have off for snow. I can't imagine we'll be able to get dug out by tomorrow, though. It's incredibly deep and heavy snow.

Well considering I can't even open my back door....the one we use....it should be interesting! ;) Poor John had to work on the base today so after putting in a 12 hour day he's going to have to shovel his way IN to our house thanks to the wind.

I don't think there will be any school here tomorrow but I also know that dh MUST go to work in order to get paid, only thing is it will take him 4 hours to get there so he will be 4 hours late. His company does not really care about the people, today they were supposed to work and although New Jersey is in State of Emergency , the office was not closed "officially" because they don't want to pay the employees without working. Nice company huh?

I don't think many of the schools will be opened tomorrow. In the few hours I've seen 2 trucks get stuck in the snow trying to plow my road. It's very slippery out.

I doubt that there will be much activity going on around here tomorrow.

I just got done digging out the car, and a plow just came by(blocking me in again, lol), but at least the major digging's done. Just need to clear a path to the road, and if we need to get out, we will be able to.

Haverford Twp in Delaware County just cancelled school for tomorrow. And I'm SICK of shoveling. And I haven't even attempted to dig out my car!!!!!!!!

My kids are in the Clearview Regional School district area --Mullica Hill/Sewell NJ area and they called school closed tomorroe at 1 pm today. Our kids are going already until June 18th now. I hope we dont have anymore days off---by June 1sy I've had enough of school.

Next year oldest dd goes to private prep school in the area--cant wait to see what the commute will be like for that during the snow

And by the I HATE SNOW--
the only thing I hate more is MORE SNOW
