Philly people...Grocery store ????

I only eat Rappa Brand scrapple love it with syrup. So you got the pretzels and the tastycakes. There is a place up the street from me that sends stuff all over the us it is called "a taste of philadelphia" Apparently the WAWA coffee is wonderful but I don't drink it. The rolls are the best and they sell other ones in WAWA. Ring Balogna is big at Booth's Corner or I bet you could get it at Reading Terminal. Oh it is shame the funnel cake wouldn't hold.

Herr's baby Herr's potato chips....plain, wavy, bbq....Herr's

Frank's Black Cherry Wishniak Soda (also Orange to wash down those soft pretzels)

Cherry Wishniak-- great idea!

Another Philly favorite used by many in the 70's-80's -- Take A Boost.

There is a discussion about Take-A-Boost. Apparently it was manufactured in Riverside NJ --so mostly Burlington County residents know about it. Acme sells the syrup.

If he ventures outside of the grocery stores, he should bring you some fresh, cut to order pasta from Talluto's on 9th Street in the Italian Market. Simply the best fresh pasta!

Then, he should drive down 8th Street to Termini Brothers and buy you some pastries. Their almond cookies are fabulous! So soft, so rich! Mmmm...

OK, so these are not only in Philadelphia, but I can't get things like this in or around Scranton, so every now and then I take a cooler and drive to the Italian Market to stock up.

I love WaWa coffee. I buy it to make at home and stop in all the time for a decaf hazelnut. It may be 100 degrees today but I'm having a WaWa coffee.

Atreat soda. The lime, orange, and cream (red) are the best ever. Schaeffer bologna is popular just north of Philly.

OMG, I miss Talluto's so much! They had the best sharp provolone!

You beat me to it, I was going to suggest a drive down 8th street (1523 is the address) to get some Cannolis or other pastry if you don't care for them. Tell him to try the Sfogliadelli (pronouced "sfoyadell".)

WAWA is great - 7-11 just does not compare!

I think all of these Philly threads are one of the things that really got me homesick for PA and our family.......Tara and I keep saying - i can't wait until we can go such and such, or do such and such or see such and such when we move back to PA! We've loved FL and living near Disney, but I guess they can't take PA out of us!

Oh my - thanks for the Taste of Philadelphia idea. What yummy packages they have! I may have to try one... Those hoagies sound good. I'm not sure steak sandwiches really would ship well. The rolls, too - yum.

Meanwhile, I did find that Habbersett does have an online order mechanism (print and send payment) that is the reasonably priced. So I'm going to order myself some scrapple today!

Ooh, thanks for the recommendations! I'll have to try the cheese in Talluto's and the Sfogliadelli in Termini's! We usually buy our cheeses at Claudio's.. if not for the quality.. for the entertainment factor in that store!

I'll be in Philadelphia on Wednesday. I just may have to take a cooler and go earlier than I'd planned.
