Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

This is sort of like the "where can I get a crabcake at WDW" question. A # of places but none match the genuine Md. article.
And my guess this is exactly the case with with true Philly cheesesteak.

You cook and I'll fly the rolls down weekly or vice versa :cool1:

Na I cook. I want to stay in FL. You can do the flying back & forth. :rotfl2:
I ask my friend years ago who owns Pat's why why why doesn't she open one in Fl. She lives in Fl. not near Diz but a couple of hours away.
She said no way. I guess I don't blame her she don't have to work. lol

We found the Plaza cheesesteaks to be only average at best this month.

I think I know what I'm gonna do when (if ever) I retire!!! If I could combine Jim's steaks (way better than Gino's OR Pat's) with Tacconelli's Pizza, I would have a gold mine for Philly transplants alone!!!

I'll join the investment group. I used to live at 8th and Bainbridge, and Jim's is FAR superior than anything Pat's or Geno's can create.

Philly is one of the biggest markets for Disney World - that's why we get the Disney characters in the Thanksgiving parade. They should put your shop on the Boardwalk (plus add in some White House hoagies!) :thumbsup2

Shar- never had Jim's. Heard all good. We went one night to get it . It was a mess up there. I have to go ck this out.
Honstly I like mine better than them all. lol

I work near Jim's on South Street, so sometimes I gotta give in to the urge at lunch. At home, we are near Steve's Prince of Steaks - still has Gino's & Pat's beat IMO. I think we could have a good thing going :dance3: - gotta keep dreamin' - but people keep waking me up and expecting me to work:scared1:

I have a Little Foot day care here in So.Philly. I am looking for an excuse to get out and get there.
Don't push me. lol :rotfl2: It Looks like there will be a lot of bread flyers on here for us to do this. I know I can do it. I make an awesome cheese steak and great hoagies. I also make the beef & pork.
Those Flordia ppl won't know what hit them. :lmao:

ITA.

Nothing you get anywhere else is close.

Wow, guess we are BOTH on the foodie boards.............lol. I rarely go on here, but I was interested in some feedback on the Dessert party and then the Cheesesteak thread caught my eye. Guess great minds.................:rolleyes1

Hey, if anyone is interested, there is an "Hi, I'm from PA" thread, too I love to visit.

Went to the dessert party on 8/28. I think I pd 16 somthing pp. It was a lot for what u get. The party is okay not great. I did it once cause that's they way I am I had to ck it out. I wouldn't do it again. I didn't like how we were in the dark. They had no lights on. I hope your party is better.:thumbsup2

where's the philly board?

In order for it to be a true Philly cheesesteak, you would need Amoroso rolls :thumbsup2

I don't think I've ever had a roll outside of Philly that came even slightly close to a nice, soft, fresh Amoroso roll.

Amoroso's rolls are too soft for cheesesteaks. I don't think any of the well known chesesteak eateries use them. They're good for sandwiches.

Best chesesteaks--all in the Northeast--Chink's, Steve's and Grey Lodge Pub.

My rule--if you look at the menu and it says "Philly" before cheesesteak, don't order it. ;)

I'm not from Philly so I don't know a REAL Philly Cheese steak but a decent roast beef and cheese sandwich...I ask for the onions on the side and no peppers, can be found at Beaches and Cream, ESPN Club, and the Plaza. Although, I haven't been to the Plaza this year.

YOU ARE 100% MY NEW BEST FRIEND

CHINKS IS AWESOME. I go to Steve's a lot because it's closer to where I live, but nothing ever will beat a cheesesteak from Chink's.

ALSO, I saw this while riding the Disney Wonder and almost died!

SWISS CHEESE?!?!?! :scared1:

Chinks - that is by far the best. Don't know what kind of rolls they get, but they are even better than Amoroso - just a little crispy on the outside, but soft and fresh on the inside. Didn't think anyone outside of NE Philly would know of that one. You and I must be neighbors 'cause I'm right near Steve's (down wind from Nabisco and yes, it will ALWAYS be Nabisco and not Kraft):thumbsup2

Like I said, if it says "Philly" before cheesesteak, run away. :lmao:

I wouldn't even think to order a cheesesteak in WDW. No Amoroso, no cheesesteak. Heck I seriously hesitate to order them in Bucks County, which is next to Philadelphia.

Tony Luke's Oregon Avenue South Phila. (sorry nothing in Florida compares)
