We received a call yesterday asking us to be a part of a DVC in person focus group. Has anyone else gotten this call?? Is it legit? Does anyone know what this could be about? I can't go, but I'm trying to talk my husband into going. Any thoughts????

We're in the Philly area. I hope I get a call if it's legit. I would love to be part of it.

I'm also nearby and no call for me...hmmm.....inquiring minds want to know!

Hmmm...now I'm wondering if it is legit. No one else here has gotten a call. That seems strange to me.

I would call Member Services and ask. It may be legit, it may not.

No call here either, but we don't answer the phone when somebody calls normally...

from the DVC website (copy and paste):

Fraudulent Letter/Phone Call Advisory

Disney Vacation Club Members who receive a suspicious phone call or letter from someone purporting to be from Disney Vacation Club or RCI should not give the person any information if they doubt that the person is an authorized Disney Cast Member or RCI employee. In addition, they should report the letter or phone call to their State Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.

Members may confirm whether or not the call or letter is from a Disney Cast Member by calling Disney Vacation Club and verifying the information with a Cast Member. In addition, Members may confirm information with RCI.

Members are always welcome to contact Disney Vacation Club or RCI to verify the validity of a contest or offer.

Thanks! We will do just that first thing Monday morning!

I don't live in Philly, but live in the San Francisco bay area. I just did an online survey for DVC about the new Hawaiian DVC and received $175 to answer questions online for four days. There were 75 of us. Then recieved a call last week for an in person focus group that was meeting in San Francisco next week that paid $125 for 3 hours but I will be gone that night. It:woohoo: was really interesting and all about how we like to vacation and what we would like to see at a Hawaiian DVC and then showed us a "in progress" web site for the new resort and asked us all kinds of question about it. They did not ask any personal questions about points or member numbers or anything like that.

That sesond part is exactly what they told us. We'd get $125 for being a part of the group. So maybe it is legit and it's all about the new resort. :) I think we should still call to make sure though.:) Thanks!
