Is anyone else on here addicted to her books? I am!
It all started when I read The Other Boleyn Girl which was fantastic. I just finished The Constant Princess and I think I loved it even more! Never thought I would be into historical fiction but she writes so well. I want to read another one of her books, any reccomendations?
What is your favorite Philippa Gregory novel?

I started with The Other Boleyn Girl (my sister gave it to me on vacation) and then I read The Constant Princess! I have The Boleyn Inheritance waiting for me to start...and I've put pretty much all her other books on my birthday/xmas wish list.

I have gone to the library and to the section where Phillipa Gregory books are located and picked up what was there at the time. My favorite has been the Other Boylen Girl, which is the first one I read. They all are good though. Grammy

I love her books too! Picked up the Other Boleyn Girl on a reeeally long connection in Dallas a couple years ago and adored it. Trying to find time to read the Constant Princess now. Can't wait for the movie version of TOBG either!

Look for The Queen's Fool and The Virgin's Lover. Both take place during the Tudor reign just like TOBG, etc. Queen's Fool is during Mary's reign, The Virgin's Lover during Elizabeth's. Both very good stories.

The Wideacre trilogy is also very good. A bit dark and demented, but very well written.

The Wideacre trilogy is also very good. A bit dark and demented, but very well written.

I read the first book in the Wideacre trilogy and really enjoyed it. It was a bit..."dark and demented" describes it pretty well. I also have the Queen's Fool, but I've been too busy with law school eek: ) to read anymore, but I definitely plan to over Thanksgiving and Christmas!!

One of my favorite authors is Susan Howatch - great historical fiction of the family saga genre. I highly recommond her earlier books, especially The Wheel of Fortune, and the entire Starbridge series dealing with the history of the Church of England.

Alright, The Queen's Fool & The Virgin's Lover are both on my list!
I was curious about the Wideacre trilogy, & I love a little demented drama. Maybe I'll get those as well.

I read all of Gregory's Tudor-related books. I actually think my favorite was The Queen's Fool. Neat perspective.

I was interested in learning more about Elizabeth than what Gregory had to offer, so I discovered Jean Plaidy. She was an EXTREMELY prolific author of historical fiction of that period, well before and well after. I just started her series on the Plantagenets.

I have The Other Boleyn Girl, The Queen's Fool, The Virgin's Lover, The Constant Princess, and The Boleyn Inheritance in my bookcase. I've enjoyed them all. Another author that I like is Jean Plaidy - I have the novels Katharine of Aragon, The Lady in the Tower, The Rose Without a Thorn, and The Sixth Wife. Someone had once told me to try Carolly Erickson's novels, too, so I picked up The Last Wife of Henry VIII. It was very good and I plan to eventually find some more of her novels.

Oh, I love her books! I've only read the Tudor ones but I think she is fantastic. I really enjoyed The Constant Princess, but I wish she would write the second half, so to speak - I'd love to see her take on the whole divorce thing from Catherine's perspective. I'm also looking forward to the movie of the The Other Boleyn Girl.

It's one twisted story isn't it? A few pages into that one I thought: Oh my gosh, this can't be for real! It'll get less demented I'm just sure of it. Ha. Silly me. Philippa Gregory knows how to pull you in and keep you there until the very end.

I didn't answer one of the OP's questions earlier... I spaced it, sorry about that. My favorite is a toss up. Either TOBG, probably because it was the first one I read or Wideacre because it dares to step out of the box just a bit.

You know, I was thinking the same thing. She really has got my admiration for stepping out of the box. Plus, it really is a incredibly written story. Just not for the faint of heart for sure.

LOL, that's for sure! I recommended it to a friend, but in the back of my mind I was thinking: Oh jeez, she's going to hate it and even worse she's going to think I'm one sick puppy! Snork! Little did I know, she's sick too! The thing is, despite it's twisted story line, it's just so well executed, you can't stop turning pages.

I love Philippa Gregory, and agree about the Wideacre Trilogy. I really liked the last book in that series.

I just finished reading A Respectable Trade and I really liked it. It's about a woman who makes a marriage of convenience to a shipowner who's business is slave-trading.

Anyone else read The Little House? It's actual a modern-day book, so it's very different from most of her others. The ending is unforgettable.

I was just about to suggest Through a Glass Darkly. That was the first book that got me hooked on historical fiction. Great book!!
