Wow Philly Competitors!

I've been anxiously catching up on the posts; great effort all! Thought about you all, pretty much all Saturday night and Sunday (family wants an explanation for the mental vacation! :scared: ).

Cindy: Excellent effort on the PR! Hope Matt is well.

Dave: Hope you had a great race. Sorry about the auto troubles.

Colleen: Great job; loved the story of professing running woes which ended in DH's hug.

Mike: Great job, speedy. Hi Kathy!

Jen: Congratulations on the PR!!! Hope Butch's cold is better.

Megan: Hello!, and Excellent effort!!

Lou: Great job. Hope being "a local" didn't add any pressure when all the DISboard folks starting showing up in your backyard. :lmao:

Chester: Congratulations! You and Tracy always earn my respect when you travel to COLDER weather to an event!

Sara: Sorry to hear of the post-run breathing woes; hope all is well nowpixiedust:

Jodi: Congratulations on the PR! Did Bruce see you finish or was he in line for another Guiness?

Howard: Tremendous effort; especially since you ran a Full last month and were battling PF. From the posts you and Cam have definitely set the bar for pre-race hospitality! ::yes::

Great job! I really missed you all this weekend. Rest well friends, you earned it.

Hey Guys!

A thought occurred to me; did anyone (except Mike) drink their BotWater? Was it rank? Mike said it wasn't too bad :confused3.

Head's still full of events from the weekend; running, eating, laughing, trains, cold, car troubles, hospitality, etc...

Howard - Glad you're happy with your results, but sorry for the blisters & PF stuff. I escaped with only a small blister on my Civil War toe that I mangled back in April. Be careful w/ that blood blister, that's what happened to the previously mentioned "piggie" & the thing's never been the same :sad2: . :worship: Thanks to you & Cam once again!

Lou - And thanks to you again for the hotel suggestion, directions, info on the course, & sharing your sister's story while walking to the porta-potties - I loved it. (the story not the stinky blue closet).

Dave - Glad you're home safe  & sorry for the troubles. Hope it doesn't mar the memory!

Mike - Forgot to ask if your poor girls' have recovered from meeting us all :rolleyes1 . I tried to not speak at all when they were in ear-shot  . Bruce had a blast & enjoys the whole enigma that is our unusual thread/bond, he's just got serious social phobias & is pretty anti-social in general. He said you looked relaxed & were bookin'!

Colleen - Your husband sounds like mine. Anytime I start to ramble on that "I'm done" etc., he just looks @ me & shakes his head & says "Oh please, you can't stop yourself." :thumbsup2 BTW, my longest LR was 18 miles, not 16 :snooty: .

Sara - Hope you're feeling better & that you can make it to WDW in Jan.

Chester - Thawed out yet?

Steve - We really missed you this weekend :grouphug: . I hope you're able to make it to some running thing soon, how'd the Turkey Trot feel???? So you definitely won't be in Disney?:sad1: Bruce wasn't drinking any Guinness, didn't want to drink alone! He missed my finish, apparently I was so quick it was a bit blurry to the naked eye!

Cindy - How're you feelin? All ready for Goofy? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: . Wonder what the weather will be like???? What will you wear? What are you hoping for in terms of finish times??? :yay:

Let's get serious people; who is up for the RTBrelay? Bruce is all fired up for it, what about the rest of you? Please, please, if you get a chance over the holiday check out the website & let me know what you think 'cause I think we've gotta act kinda soon. If we bag this idea, what's the next thing up after Disney? :rolleyes1 popcorn::

Greetings Everyone: OK, I had a good night sleep in my own bed snuggled with my family. I feel ready to have a real post now.

Howard and Cam- Thank you so much for opening up your home to us on Saturday evening. That was the highlight of the weekend for me. I was so glad I got to catch up with you both again. Especially Cam, who I haven't chatted with for a while. Howard, I'm really glad you said something to me around mile 10. I don't know if I would have seen you if you went by. You were running so strong there. I'm really amazed. WTG! Good luck with Goofy, and the vow renewals. You both were really tempting me about coming down again in January. I have airline miles... hmmmmm.

Sara- Great job with your run. I WISH I could have run with you more, and I'm sorry you were having so much trouble with asthma. What happened to you in the beginning. We started off together, but I lost you at the first split around the fountain. I kept looking back for you, but couldn't see you. I was wondering if you went on the opposite side of the fountain than I did.

Jodi- Tell "the Cloud" he's not allowed in my car anymore. Seriously, it was great to see you and spend time with you and Bruce. Bruce cracks me up. Great job on your new marathon PR Jodi. BTW, I'm definitely interested in that relay race.

Jen- Great to meet you. I WISH I would have seen you at the start. We were looking for you, but couldn't find you anywhere. Glad you had a good race though.

Cindy and Matt- You guys had awesome races. Congratulations! And Cindy, thanks again for calling me while I was at Pep Boys. Sorry, I missed your call, but I really appreciate your concern.

Lou- Whew, you flew by me around 3 miles or so. You were flying. WTG on the run. It was great to meet you in person, and thanks for recommending the Embassy Suites. That was a fantastic place to stay in Philly. I'm thinking I might bring the family down to the Franklin Institute for the Narnia exhibition.

Mike- No, you weren't a baffoon about my car. Jodi only knew because my rear tires started making noise on the way down to Cam and Howard's. I was hoping it was going to be a quick fix, but alas, it didn't turn out that way.

Colleen- It was great to see you again. I can't believe it's been so long. Great job on completing the marathon. You are one strong woman! Good luck at Disney, and have fun with your hubby! Maybe I can come down to babysit for you...

Megan- Sorry I didn't get to meet you over the weekend. I was certainly there long enough. Great job on your race.

Chester- Good to see you and Tracy again too. Great job on your run. It was fun catching up with you both at dinner.

SilverSteve- Thanks for the half bib! Hope I did you proud...

Dave - I just felt bad afterwards. I am so used to running solo that I have no idea how to run with someone else. I was just running like a nut for as long as I could and got pretty far before I realized I had forgotten to drink. Glad you made it home alright. Check this out...today my car battery died so I am heading to Pep Boys myself.

Jodi - Who cares about the marathon I beat you in a porto-pottie race and you even had a head start. :cool1: At least I won something on Sunday. You beat me to the punch. I'm in a post-race funk...I need something on the calendar. I'll check the RTBrelay site out this weekend. It sounds cool.

Plan B could be to get a feel where everyone lives and what races are central to the majority of the group in 2009. I'm an engineer so you know I am all about maps. I'm up for anything east of the Mississippi in a new place (Mid-Atlantic, New England, southeast, parts unknown). I have family and/or friends in RI, MD, and VA...even New Orleans. Mardi Gras Marathon?:drinking1:cool1:

You can be the designated DISbot captain. Lets find a race in 2009.

Lou

When you first said this on Saturday night I had this picture in my mind of the movie Road Trip. I'll be the guy that highjacks one of those little yellow school buses for us.

Jodi- Tell "the Cloud" he's not allowed in my car anymore.

I completely understand!! Never underestimate the negative-energy effects the Cloud can have on all living things AND inanimate objects, as you found out this weekend, poor fellow.

:lmao: :rotfl2: EXACTLY!!

I JUST saw the picture:rotfl: OMG! That's too funny! How'd you do that?

Nah, don't feel bad at all Lou. I'm used to doing all my training by myself too, so I have a hard time running with someone as well. I didn't think twice about it. It was just good to see you on the course.

Uh, yeah, dude, I was gonna ask you about that! Your new superhero name is the Urinator :crazy2:

The Cloud is all powerful...

Yeah, you two are SO anti-social while running, sheesh!

I'm up for the RTB Relay. My only concern is time off of work. I saw the race starts on Friday. So I would need to take Thursday and Friday off. Plus, if we do this relay, then I can't run the Yeti, and I was thinking that would be a fun race to do with my daughter. However, if everyone's up for the relay. I can "Make it Work!" I have a couple of ideas for people to contact to join the team.

I'd hate that you couldn't run Yeti w/ DD, I didn't realize it was the same weekend. But please, would you take the helm if we do do this RTB thing? You know, like you'd be the Czar of Planning. I know that you are a planning phenom! I don't wanna be the '09 captain, Lou :scared1: . We really would end up having to steal a bus & stuff if I was in charge.

I 100% would love to do the RTB relay (assuming I am physically able to do so and you all don't decide to kick me off the team b/c I would disqualify you from running in the masters category).

Oh, I am SO sucked in after this weekend:rolleyes1 I think my heart will break if I miss WDW marathon weekend:sad2: . DH has a business trip to Vegas 1/8-1/11 but I am seriously considering even a one nighter 1/11-1/12:laughing: . I AM going to be 40 that month and DH would never deny me if I plead hard enough or do some bartering:rotfl2: :lmao: so there's still hope:thumbsup2

Lou - Thanks for stepping up and appointing Jodi chairperson of the 2009 Disbots Race Destination Committee:banana: .

Jodi - I'm committed to RNR San Diego in 5/09 and WE'RE committed to the 1/2 in NYC 4/26 (booked a tentative room yesterday) but other than those two, I'm free for wherever we decide to travel:yay: I'll also check out the RTB site real soon:thumbsup2 and you know I'm up for anything:laughing: .

Colleen - We did forget the body glide and I hope you were okay without it. I suffered a bunch of chafing myself on my lower back, most likely from doubling up on the bottom layers:scared: So sorry those tools at PHL confiscated the water from you:rotfl: .

Steve - You were surely missed this past weekend:hug: . Thanks for keeping in touch and hopefully our paths will cross in the future:grouphug:

Howard - Not to worry, Colleen will change the name of the thread to reflect our 2009 endeavor once we decide on the same, just to keep us "legal" on the board:confused: . So proud of you rockin this race:cheer2: and hopefully your Goofy training will be smooth sailing.

I'm feeling better today but I've still got a ways to go before I can run:rolleyes: . I think the worst part of the race for me was feeling like I was drowning from the start. I remember Cindy talking about severe congestion on a LR a while back and now I completely understand how much that sucks:mad: . 8+ hours of sleep for the past two nights have put me on the right path to a full recovery:goodvibes

I think the Czar may have certain qualifications for the team & 40+ might be one of them :rolleyes1  . Besides, you'll be all "barefoot" by then!;)

No, the Yeti's not the same weekend. I think it is the next weekend. I think it is Saturday, Sept 26th or something like that. And I had not committed to running the Yeti, but it was an idea in my mind. DD10 princess: would be 11 then and old enough to run, and she said she thought the obstacle course would be fun.

How did I get to be the Czar of planning? I mean, I know I printed out my park touring plans for this summer on this, and wore it around the park. But I didn't know that made me a a Planning Czar.

Would I get to decide who gets the soup after the race?

No soup for you!!!

I 100% would love to do the RTB relay (assuming I am physically able to do so and you all don't decide to kick me off the team b/c I would disqualify you from running in the masters category).
Mixed Master's is 30+ for both men and women. Mixed Super Master's is 40+ for both men and women. So Cindy, you get soup. We just won't be Soup-er! Get it??? Soup, super??? Oh forget it, you'll be pregnant anyway. I saw what the privacy sign on your door for your hotel room said.

A team can have 8-12 people on it so, as long as there were 9 or more, if I had to drop out (for some reason or another) closer to the race, the team would still be fine. Of course, maybe Jodi is just tying to find a nice way to tell me she doesn't want me on her team :rolleyes1
