Good Morning Team: Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday. I had a great LR yesterday. Except for the fact I couldn't get started until 9:30am. That meant I was out from 9:30-11:30a in bright, full sun. It was getting quite warm out there. Anyway I did 12.2 miles in 1:52 min (I discovered my iPOD has a stopwatch, who knew
) for a 9:11 mpm pace. Whoo hoo! I felt great. It's been really different running without the Garmin strapped to my wrist. I just go out and run the pace that feels comfortable. I took walk breaks every 2 miles or so, and still ended up with a good pace. I feel great about it. I gotta get my base built up so I can rest on our upcoming Disney vacation.
Howard- Oooh, sorry to hear about the ankle pain. Hope it's better this morning. Good luck with the 5K. Have fun. Is Cam running with you?
Jodi- Great job on the 7 miles. You go girl! Nervous dad for DD10
overnight camp? No way! Hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but DW and I were really enjoying having some 1 on 1 time with DD7
. It doesn't happen too much, and it's nice to just be able to have a day focusing on our youngest. We took her to see Horton Hears a Who, got pizza, played Disney Scene It, and she slept in our room. It was nice.
I'm hoping I can come down to that meeting at the Contemporary and stay for the Yakking Yeti. I want DW to come down on Friday too and we can have a grown up getaway. The Cool Aunt in Cleveland said she could come out and watch the girly-girls for us. So we'll see how it goes. And yes, I'm leaning strongly to saying I already have plans in November so I can't go to that conference. I think they could send someone else this time.
Did you listen to the DIS Unplugged e-mail show?
Where's everybody else?

Hope that ankle starts cooperating.
Yeah on the 12 miles!!!
It is going to be so much fun introducing them to the work of Disney.
They are coming back to NC with us for 5 days so we are preparing the house for our houseguests.
I walk about 15 miles a week with the occasional yoga or cycle class thrown in. I need to start thinking seriously about training again,
ran with me (in the same race). She ran/walked with another DIS'er Patty (from the Disney Weddings thread) and her daughter. She did great. I think if she didn't PR, she got awefully close.
I have ruined 3 running watches over the years when applying bug spray as DEET clouds the plastic watch face (You'd think I'd learn).

. Thanks for heading up the WISH meet for Philly. A big cograts
. I hope you're having lots of fun with the girls being out of school
. I was glad to give my bib away so it's a win-win thing. Thanks for letting me know Matt might do the 1/2 in Philly. Don't even sweat a lack of training for NYC with so much else going on. I can't believe Matt's never been to WDW
. Congrats on the AP rates for August
Happy Birthday!! Congrats on the 5k and I am way too impressed
with your pace. Glad the ankle is no worse for the wear too. Are you in WDW for part of the trip or is it all cruise
either one of those evenings
. I'll PM you my cell #. I think you're doing lots to keep your fitness level up, especially with all of the other things you've got going on. Have a blast with the WDW newbies
.
. I hope DD did okay at her overnight camp. We'd love to see you in Philly but I have to say there's no peer pressure
I was rollin'!! Somehow I can't picture Pete running a Princess 1/2 marathon, but the tiara, now that's a different story!
. No Yeti run for me in September. I hope your DD's have a fantastic final day of school
and my doc real mad.
I'll try to post again before I leave for WDW on Sunday
. The 3rd mile (8:40mm) brings my mini-loop back to my house. By the time I was "done" I was so pissed off I just jumped in the shower & called it a day. So there, that's how my stupid run went this a.m.
