So I've just come back from the Magical Place and have caught up on most posts.

I was lucky enough to be invited to attend a friend's wedding at the Wedding Pavillion and it was so wonderful.

I had never set foot in the WP before that day and it's just so pretty and I ofcourse love the pink paisley seat covers. The whole set up at the WP is beautiful as are the grounds I was really really impressed.

The reception was held on the Whitehall patio and ballroom at the Grand Floridian Convention Center and again just superb food and service and venue.

I stayed at Pop Century - this was my first time staying at a value resort and I absolutely loved it - Pop Century is so so so much fun you don't walk anywhere you kinda boogie because music is played everywhere - we stayed in the 70's building and they played a lot of the Bee Gees :teeth: The food court was good too, no complaints whatsoever about this place.

I ate at California Grill, Boatwrights, Grand Floridian Cafe, Beaches & Cream, Jiko's, Spoodles, Cindy's Royal Table for dinner, Kona Cafe for lunch, 'Ohanas, Bomas and Wolfgang Puck's so if anyone has any questions fire away.

Hi Sam

Welcome back! Glad to hear you had a great time!

Thanks for replying to my previous posts about Michelle
Shumate:D and DJ for small wedding - you have definitely reasurred me about both these issues (my fiance will also be very happy as I think I've been going on and on about this:hyper2:
...LOL!)

You say you stayed at Pop Century this time and it's sounds like you really enjoyed it - how do you think it compares to Caribbean Beach Resort?

How exciting! What's really coincidental is that just this past week, my fiance and I were at WDW (staying at the Pop Century too) planning our own wedding....we've decided to have it at the Wedding Pavilion with the reception at Whitehall!! How coincidental! If you don't mind my asking, how many people were attending the wedding? We plan to have 35-40 people so we think these locations will be great. Did your friend have a DJ (or any type of music) and a dance floor at Whitehall? That is the only thing we're unsure of. Also, do you know if the patio totally private? We are unsure if other people can just wander onto the patio during our reception or not. We're also having an Illuminations dessert party on the lower terrace at UK. While we were at Epcot (just this past Wednesday), a nice elderly man that worked there offered to give us a semi-private viewing of Illuminations from a spot in the UK that's located right next to the lower terrace! It was incredible!

Hmm well I love both Pop and CBR :Pinkbounc and the Pop did me well but there were things I missed there that I would have at CBR.

CBR's rooms are sooooooo much larger and I think their beds are too but I wouldn't want to swear to that. I love the double sinks in the built in units at CBR at Pop you just get the single sink but you still get the built in area so there's plenty of room to put all your make-up and products etc. Both the rooms at Pop and CBR I have found to be pleasant in decoration and cleanliness so I score them both the same on that. AT CBR each little village gets it's own pool plus the main pool with "spa-bath" where as at Pop there are only pools at 50's, 60's and 90's albeit they are bigger and themed. Sadly there is no "spa-bath" at Pop. It seemed to me to be quicker to walk to the Food Court from any room at Pop than at CBR I guess this is because CBR is so much more spread out - I've stayed at South Trinidad which seemed like miles away from Old Port Royal. I prefer at CBR that my car is parked much closer to my room.

All in all I think I prefer CBR, as long as I am close to Old Port Royal, and after all it is a moderate - but Pop is definitely extremely good quality for the price without a doubt.

Jennifer I can assure you that the patio is private - the only people that will see are those from the Monorail and to be honest I have never noticed that area before after all the times I've travelled on the monorail so people will still not notice.

There were 16 attending the wedding but there was plenty of room for more but at the same time we didn't feel like we were lost, you know ? I would deffo suggest the dance floor - when I got wed we had the reception at Ariel's which has it's own sort of built in dance floor area but if I was having a reception elsewhere I'd have to have a dance floor but that's just my opinion.

Again and this is just my biased opinion I really think Lower UK is one of the best spots to watch Illuminations from - I chose it for our Dessert Party and my friend also had it - it was nice to be able to just sit and watch the fireworks from there without having to do the camera poses and missing the view.

Hi Sam

U got any pic's of the wedding you attended to share, especially of the Whitehall patio and ballroom. I was thinking of this place, but thought it might be to large.

Thanks

Sam

P.s glad you had (another) great holiday.
Im so jealous

Sam

The bride is not home from her wedding and honeymoon in FL as yet so I need to wait for her to get home and see the piccies herself first then I can send you my link to my photo album. Remind me though in a week or so by PM :)

We too were there last week and we stayed at Pop. We were in the 50's building. Just wondering what night did they have their dessert reception because while we were on the Illuminations cruise and we saw a dessert party going on, at the lower uk. That was 10/25. :D Congrats to your friend and can't wait to hopefully see some pics!! ALSO! We booked our locations last week and we got the WP at 10am, Ariel's for a lunch reception and lower UK for our dessert reception. Oh and it's for 10/18/05. We are SO excited!:hyper: Now I've got the WAIT sickness!! Great to see you back!! I want to read a trip report!!:Pinkbounc :wave2:
