PHEW! We just got back from our trip, and boy, are we tired (AND SO SAD THAT IT'S OVER :sad1: ). Let's go back to the beginning, shall we?

On December 14, while I was at work, I was sitting at my desk, looking at accuweather.com. Here in the Buckeye State (Ohio), all of the weather stations were calling for SNOW SNOW SNOW, beginning at 9:00am the next day (December 15). Our plane was to leave at 12:00pm :scared: ! This trip was going to be the first time going with DH, DMIL, DFIL, DBIL, and DBIL'S GF... oye. So, I emailed DH, DMIL and DFIL and said 'uh oh!, what do we do'? SO, we all decided to try to switch our flight to the 7:00am, rather than the 12:00pm. We were flying Southwest, and they had the 'weather alert', so we were able to switch our tickets to the early flight... but ended up in the last part of "B" class. No big deal. DH and I spent the night at DMIL and DFIL's house that night, so we could leave before the crack of dawn was even in sight the next morning. We made makeshift beds for the basement, and left the next morning... at 4:45am :scared1:.

The airport at that time of the morning was great! No lines, no crowds, the plane was ALREADY THERE-- fabulous. The flight was great too, no problems :thumbsup2. BOY, IT FELT GOOD TO LAND AND SEE PALM TREES!! We packed up our luggage and caught the ride to pick up our rental car. Yaddy yaddy yaddy-- we then drove up to the Swan. Ahhhhhhh, the Swan :goodvibes. I LOVE the Swan. I was in seventh heaven. We were earlier than check in allowed, so we decided to grab some lunch (by this time, it was around 11:00am.) We went to the Fountain in the Dolphin and had some nummy lunch. I had the BLT (super YUM!), DMIL and DH had Chili and DFIL had the Chicken Cesar Salad. All good reviews! After lunch, we were able to put our luggage in one of the rooms that were ready. Then, we headed to Walmart in Kissimmee for some breakfast goods. When we came back, the other rooms were ready, so we moved DMIL and DFIL's luggage to their room, then hopped on the boat and headed to Epcot.

At Epcot, we walked around the countries. We rode the "Three Caballeros" (I liked the old ride better, though the update was cute.) and watched "Reflections of China". Since we were over there already, we decided to eat there too. YUM YUM YUM!!! We split the Pot Stickers, General Tso's Chicken, and Seseme Chicken, with some Fried Rice on the side. SOOOOO GOOOOD! Our bellys were happy! We then walked around the countries some more, and stopped in the gift shop at Germany. While we were in there, Karla Steinbach was there. My DMIL collects Steinbach Nutcrackers, so she was SUPER excited to meet her. She actually signed a book that my DMIL bought about Steinbach Nutcrackers. We hopped over to Morracco (I'm sure I'm spelling a lot of things wrong here) and breifly watched the group that was playing. Then we decided to go back to the hotel- we needed to pick DBIL and GF up from the airport around 11, so we decided to get some rest. ::::RESTING:::: So, remember that bad weather I was talking about? Well, DBIL and GF had to touch down in Chicago--- yeah, they got hit HARD! Their flight didn't get in until 2:00am. BOY WAS I A GRUMP WHEN I WAS LOADED INTO THE CAR TO GO PICK THEM UP FROM THE AIRPORT AT 1:30AM.... . It was a 22 hour day for me... something I am NOT used to. I slept like a baby that night in the 'Heavenly Beds'. Mmmmmm the 'Heavenly Beds' :goodvibes .

So now it's officially 'Day 1' of our trip. This day, we met up with DGPA and DGMA, who drove up from Miami to meet us. We had breakfast in the room, and Lunch at the Fountain (again). At lunch, DH and I both had Chili, DBIL had a 'Make your own burger', GF had the Chicken Sandwich, DFIL had the Cesar Salad again, DMIL had the Chili again, and DGPA and GMA had the Tuna Melt. All good reviews- SUPER YUMMY! Then, we hopped on the boat to go to MGM. We rode the Great Movie Ride and the Backlot Tour. Of COURSE, I was on the left side of the tram... great view of Catastrophe Canyon... good thing I pulled out my poncho! We then scampered over to Lights, Motors, Action-- my DH's FAVORITE. Great show, as always. The crowds were more than I expected, but the lines weren't anything like June... except at RNR and ToT. We didn't get to ride them, which I didn't mind because I didn't want to ;). By this time, it was time for a rest, and therefore, headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. I had made reservations at Chefs de France at Epcot. When we got there, the restaurante was PACKED, and there was a line to get in. We were seated within 15 minutes. DMIL and I split the French Meal or whatever it's called (French Onion soup, half roast chicken, mashed potatos, poached tomato, and creme brule for desert. PLENTY TO SPLIT!). DH had the Cheese Macaroni, DFIL and DBILGF both had the Veggi Lasagna, DBIL had the French Meal by himself, and I can't remember what DGPA and DGMA had, but everything was FANTASTIC! We all split the creme brule, and ordered apple crepes and some sort of doughnut chocolate thing for dessert. Again, EXCELLENT! We then rode Maelstrom a couple of times, watched "Reflections of China" again and watched Illuminations. The extended ending was neat... except for the fact that all of the ashes rained down on us!! I ran . We then headed back to the hotel, and I fell right to sleep!

Alright, Day 2. If you're still reading this, sorry if it's boring you!! Today we woke up to 38 degree weather. I felt like I was back in Ohio!! Good thing I was smart and packed warm clothes. DGMA, DFIL, DBILGF weren't as weather concious, so they had to buy some sweatshirts from the Swan giftshop. I guess it's a good excuse to buy some Disney gear, huh? We headed outside and picked up the bus for the Animal Kingdom. I took my Bonine this morning, so I was all set to go on Expedition Everest. The wait was only 30 min. Boy, what a fun and DIZZYING coaster!! I'm glad I took my Bonine, or I would have been a mess. Super fun, and I screamed the WHOLE time. I'm glad I went on it... I think I'd do it again?? We then headed over to the Safari Ride and saw LOTS of animals! There was a traffic jam because of an Ostridge in the road, but all of the animals seemed to like the cooler weather (by now it was around 45-50 or so). After eating at the CS that starts with a T (lol I can't remember the name, but we ALL had turkey sandwiches) we headed over to the Lion King show. Great show! We were the "Lions"... and the coolest group of all I might add. There weren't a whole lot of people at our show, so we were able to have a great view. We then headed out and watched some Carolers (I'm sure I'm still spelling things wrong) and hopped on the bus back to the hotel. We said good bye to DGMA and DGPA, and had "Christmas" in the room. See, my DBIL and his DGF are from Seattle, and won't be coming to Ohio for Christmas. We exchanged presents and rested a bit, then walked over to ESPN for dinner. I had the Veggi Sandwich (YUM YUM YUM), DH had a burger, DBILGF had the Chicken Cesar Salad, and I don't remember what the others had. We have to go to ESPN every trip! I LOVE the Veggi Sandwich, and it's so cheap! We headed back over to the Fountain for some ice cream dessert and called it a night.

Day 3-- The Engagement....
Yes folks, you heard right-- the Engagement! DBIL will propose to his DGF tonight! Ok, we'll get there, but there are a few hours to get through first-- ready? After breakfast in the room, we took the boat over to Epcot. We didn't get to ride Spaceship Earth... we were 20 min too late!!! :sad2: DH and I LOVE LOVE LOVE SE.... o well. We rode Universe of Energy (it broke down at the very end, so we had to get off early), and Soarin (WHEE SUPER FUN! Love those scents!!!...after a 65 min wait...ug), then had lunch in the Land. DH and I split the Asiago Turkey Sandwich, chips, and mac and cheese, and the rest of the family leaned towards the Oriental side. Again, all good reviews. We then hopped on Living with the Land and headed over to see Nemo. I don't know why, but that electric scarey fish scares me :confused3 !! We walked around the aquarium some, then headed to Canada. We watched the movie, and by this point, it was 3:00pm. Almost Engagement time!! We headed back to our hotel to get ready for our "5:00pm dinner reservation". Muah hah hah. Then, DFIL, DH and I got into nice clothes and headed to the Dolphin lobby. There, we were to meet the pre-arranged string quartet that we set up to play. They arrived.... almost late.... ok, later than they were supposed to, but not TOO late. They set up, and then we ran to one of the gift shops to spy. at 4:57pm, DBIL and DGF came up to the lobby and watched the string quartet (all the while, we're crawling around the floors of the gift shop like idiots trying to spy...) DBIL requested a song, and during the song, he popped the question. SHE SAID YES! After many hugs and congratulations, and pictures, they were asked to do the 'Tree Lighting' (aka, push a lever forward). They got a ticket for 2 free Ice Cream's from the Fountain and lots of applause. We then ate at Il Mulino in the Swan. SUPER COOL RESTAURANT!!! I had some flat noodles in tomato sauce with lots of basil, DH had Tortillini, and again, I can't remember what the others had. THIS MEAL WAS SO GOOD! We'll definately go back! Then, we headed over to the Yacht Club to hop on the Breathless that I had reserved 90 days prior. SO FUN! Omar was our Captain and did a great job. He took us HIGH SPEED :scared1: around the lagoon, and then over to MGM, and back to Epcot to watch Illuminations from under the bridge. SO COOL!!! This was my favorite part of the trip. The $250 (ok, more with tax) was definately worth it!!!!

Day 4-- THE LONGEST DAY EVER
So it's day 4. After breakfast in the room again, we took the bus over to the Magic Kingdom. We made a bee-line to Pirates (LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT), we didn't have to wait hardly at all! We then popped back to the Jungle Cruise, but this wait was much longer. It said 30 min, but it was more like 45. This park was definately the place to be today!! Love the Jungle Cruise as always, especially the people that dance in a circle... :rotfl2:. By this point, we were hungry, so we headed to Pecos Bill. DH and I split the Chicken Wrap and Apple Slices, DFIL had the WHOLE Chicken Wrap, DBIL and Fiancee had chili and something I can't remember, and DMIL had the Chicken Salad. The lines were HORRIBLY long, and the people behind the counter were mixing up orders and getting angry... but the food was good. Probably the most stressful meal we had, but still good. After lunch, we headed to the Haunted Mansion, 20 min wait. I like the updates they did. More of it looked new to me than not. This one broke down before we got on the doom buggies, and while we were on the doom buggies... I didn't like being broken down on the doom buggies..... We then high-tailed it over to It's A Small World After All, It's A Small World After All, It's A Small World (ok I'll stop)(:rolleyes1 ). SUPER LONG LINE!!!! I couldn't believe it! It's that one ride you HAVE to go on, even though you KNOW you'll be whistling it for the rest of your LIFE!. After running and not looking back, I HAD to get a Dole Whip. MMMM MMMM MMMM!!! Once I got that, I was happy again. We then took the Monorail over to Epcot. When I saw the Ball coming, and we rounded the corner, the DOOR TO SPACESHIP EARTH WAS OPEN AND PEOPLE WERE GETTING ON  :yay: :dance3: !!!!! I almost jumped through the window!!! We got off and I was knocking people over to get through the line to get on it!! We all got to ride, and I actually like the update. Of course, I am a purist too, and like the old one just the same(THANK YOU YOUTUBE FOR HAVING THE OLD RIDE DOCUMENTED!!!). My husband's friend did the new music for the ride, and I think he did a good job. I like the touch screens-- but the only thing I worry about is if the screens go down, you have nothing to do for like 5 minutes. Oh well, I was just happy to go on it :cheer2:! We then walked over to the countries and watched the "Beatles". They did an ok job, though I was not as impressed as I thought I'd be. Halfway through their show, our dinner reservation time came, so we headed to the San Angel Inn. We rode the Three Caballeros again, and sat down to dinner. I had the Mahi Mahi- surprisingly good. DH had 3 Chicken taco things instead of the sampler, DFIL had the shrimp and pasta, and I can't remember what the others had. The concensus was 'meh, ok', though this is another one of the places we have to eat because of just how fricken COOL it is inside!! After dinner, we went over to Maelstrom (again LOL) and looked in the giftshop. DH and DBIL fought the big Troll in the Viking hats... and smelled the Gier cologne. Gier was actually going to be there, and we'd see him the next day (but we'll get there)!! We walked around more countries and more gift shops and stopped to watch Kirk Cameron (loved him when I was little!) read during Candlelight. We walked over and had some ice cream on the Boardwalk (mmmm Cookie Dough!!!) and took a walk on the Swan beach. It was so sad to think that the next day we'd be going home!!!!!!!! :guilty:

Day 5... the last day :sad1:
So day 5... the last day. We ate breakfast at Picabu then sent DBIL and Fiance off to the airport. We went to Epcot, and DH and I rode Spaceship Earth AGAIN!!!! :rotfl: SO HAPPY since we didn't think before the trip we'd be riding it at all!!! Then we rode Test Track. My first time- so fun! Boy, you go really fast!!! I'd DEFINATELY do it again. It was down, and then we heard Zoom!, Zoom!, Zoom!- So we knew it had re-opened. DH and I RAN over there, and there was still a 40 min wait lol- but it was worth it! We then walked around the Countries and rode Maelstrom, AGAIN. :cutie:. At this point, it was time to go back and pack up. We ate at the Fountain quick, and drove to the MCO. The Airport was SOOOOOO BUSY and going through security there was a nightmare. SO disorganized. The flight left on time, and actually landed in Columbus 10 min early.

So that's that.... our trip in a nutshell. It was fun, and exausting, and I want to go back ASAP :sad1:. It's sad how depressed I get when I have to go back to reality. DH says we can go back soon, and even start planning our next trip. I think our next trip will be just the two of us- It's MUCH easier with two people planning what you're going to do. We need to find a new 'low season' though, because there were LOTS and LOTS of people there. I think people are on to us.... ;) Overall, it was a good trip, and I love Florida and Disney just as much, if not more than before! Happy trip planning to all!!
