As many of you know, my DH and I asked for your help on how to surprise my children, their spouses and our grandkids with an
all-expense-paid trip to Disney! DH & I are going, too. :teeth:

We finally choose the fortune cookie idea submitted by carolfoy! :thumbsup2

Now, onto phase II...

We are looking for suggestions on just what to write on the fortunes in the cookies! Little phrases that they will have to work together on to figure out the surprise!

I have nothing...but I want to be there when you tell them!

What a great gift. Have fun.

My mother in law told each of her 3 sons that she had had a little extra $ from her tax refund but could only afford to take one of them with there family to disney, we were all at her house for dinner and she told them to randomly pick gift bags off the kitchen counter and they all opened them at the same time each of them went crazy thinking they had won when really all of them won, she planned the entire thing. :cheer2: Everyone was screamng it was soo much fun :woohoo:

How about printing up "engraved invitations" and mailing them out? Or have them over to dinner and give them out all at once?

Order 3 copies of the planning dvd and give those to them that night.

"The Honour of Your Presence is Requested at the linninpa Family WDW Extravaganza.

When: August 2006
Where: WDW XXX Resort

Please RSVP at your earliest convenience"

What about putting together a Disney basket. Some ideas to go in the basket: books (unofficial guide, passporter, hidden mickeys), Disney dollars, disney t-shirts (custom matching ones might be cool), copy of intinery, questionaire of what to do, disney stickers, disney coloring books, disney crayons, disney cups, travel stuff (sunscreen, fanny packs), park maps (i'm sure someone would mail you some), Disney gift cards, disney beach towels, Disney photo album...

Of course, this is all dependent on how much time you have before going and what you want to spend money on. I'm also sure someone here will have more/better ideas.

You coulld also get the Mickey wilton cake pan for dessert & tell over dinner.

I don't know. :confused3

You can order Mickey ears from 407-363-6200. What a special Mom & Dad you are!!!! Have a wonderful trip. Please let us know how you surprise them.

How far ahead do you need to tell them?
We really do need to tell them soon so they can get time off of work, etc. We have given ourselves a "deadline" by the end of this month. :)

A Disney Basket is a fabulous idea!! :wizard:

WOW!!! What a wonderful gift! I love the idea of bringing them altogether and telling them at once.

What about making a special little T-shirt that says "Mom Mom and Pop Pop are taking us all to Disney" and change the 2 year old into the shirt and then just let him (or her) walk out into the family room and then let them read it.

However you decide to do it, it will be a wonderful surprise and a magical trip!!!

Or it could say "...taking ME to WDW...and YOU TOO!"

OHHH! I just love the idea of putting the message on our littlest one and letting him "announce" the trip! Cool! :thumbsup2

That would be adorable having the little one tell them. That is how we announced at christmas we were pregnant, ds wore a shirt.

I just have one question;

Will you be my mommy????
:rotfl:

OMG, what an awesome mommy you are!!!!!!! Can you adopt me??? LOL... :rotfl2:

I LOVE the idea of the little one wearing the tee shirt. But I also love the idea of having the planning videos and maybe gift baskets...even MICKEY EARS engraved with their names on them!, and then on top of the planning video have the personalized invite (that you can make on your computer). A combination of all of the ideas listed!!!!!!!! WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

They will remember this trip for a lifetime. :wizard:

Thanks for the reply! I am just so overwhelmed as to how to announce this surprise! (Of course, I am having a great time with it all! )
And we need to make the "announcement" soon!

Gift basket with planning video, ears, "I'm going to Disney" t-shirt, small $ disney dollars for the little ones, this could get expensive but fun!

What a great thing for you to do for all of them!!
