As we were sitting at our campsite, my DBIL looks over to our neighbor's site and notices that a small thief was in the process of rummaging thru their belonging in their screen house!

We'll I of course grabbed my camera and telephoto lens and proceeded to catch the criminal red handed, with photographic proof of the crime.

He wasn't too suspecting of me, so I managed a good shot of him before he made a run for it.

Keep your eye out for him in the 1500 loop next time you're there.

Our poor neighbors checked out before we had a chance to tell them that they had been robbed. Let it be known that a screen house and a plastic grocery bag are not enough to secure your valuables!

:lmao: what a great shot!

wanna bet they're in cahoots with the otters? :rotfl:

I bet that squirrel :squirrel: :bounce: was running on High Octane after eating all that :rotfl: then it was like... crash time......:faint::faint:

Great pic Lynn! I'm sure people will be able to recognize the culprit - - after eating that candy bar, he (or she) will be too fat to run :rotfl:

That is adorable!! We had some theft at the Fort also. Forgot and left the kitchen open while we went out to the pool.

We didn't catch the culprit but have pictures of the evidence!!

I think I saw that aguy over by our site too. We were in 1516.

Hi everyone! I am new here, but I have been lurking for about two years. I have gotten so much great info here. I just had to reply to this post! We have camped at the fort 11 (I think) times in the past three years, and never had any trouble with "theft" until our visit a few weeks ago (Mar 25-29). We were in loop 200 in a site which backs up to a canal. I had packed our park backpack for the next day and left it out on the table under our canopy. The next morning we opened the door of the pop-up to find....the backpack on the ground, unzipped, and our gallon ziploc bag of (prepackaged) snacks completely gone! There were muddy five-fingered prints all over the table! We took pictures of the crime scene, but I don't think I can post pictures yet. Beware of raccoons!

That is TCDs secret squirrel reporter. He is just doing some investigative reporting.:squirrel:

Also, interesting comment about the raccoons. That is what it sounds like got into the backpack. I have never seen a raccoon or evidence of a raccoon at the Fort.

ETA- I forgot that I also wante to say to the OP-GLM Great photo!

Until that trip, we had encountered many animals, but never raccoons. The day after the backpack incident, though, DH, DD13, and DS10 saw a raccoon while on the trail ride.
