Have any of you tried the ride along Petty experience? :car: I know it is about $100. or cheaper with AAA. Did you need reservations? Was it worth the money? I was thinking of surprising DH if I could. But, we may be on a tight on time so that is why I was wondering about reservations. It is a lot of money...???? :car: Thanks.

My older brother did it a few years back....he loved it...have to mention he’s a Navy pilot and totally thinks roller coaster are nothing ...but he said he was scared to death, it was the fastest he's ever been on land and didn’t want it to end....Now he want to try and drive the car ....lol ....sorry i don’t know the exact cost it isn’t cheap, but worth the price from what I saw

I did this a couple years ago at Daytona and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. Did I mention I loved it? The only problem was it didn't last long enough.

Dh and my dad did it at Daytona in 2001 and loved it too. They still giggle and cackle like little kids when they start talking about it. Actually this post reminded me I was supposed to do a bit of research on the experience at WDW. Thanks!

I bought a Petty Experience for my DH at Indy a couple of years ago, where he got to drive a stock car around the track for something like 10 laps, after some instruction, and he LOVED IT!!! It was only over too fast. Can't remember what it cost, like 300-500 dollars, I think, and was an all day affair, but I would definitely recommend it! My DH isn't even the world's biggest racing fan, but he still wanted to do it again!
Good Luck,
Britte

I did the 8 lap driving experience at WDW a few years ago. You need reservations for that, but you do not need reservations for the ride along experience.

Are you going to book it for DH?

I am thinking about it for a surprise.....???????
I think I have to take a taxi there though...no car!! DRATS!
I will see how much time is involved, too. :confused3

My husband did the 3 lap ride along last September and LOVED it. We got it free as a gift, but they don't take reservations. You also don't need to take a taxi there if you are staying on property at Disney. They will pick you up. If I remember right, you go to the ticket and transportation center, and walk over to where the kennel is, and there is a marked van waiting there. If you call them, they can give you all the details.
