Hi all you pet lovers!

We have a one year old boxer that we will be bring with us to FW. She has been camping with us since she was 6 weeks old.
My question is, do we have to leave her at the WDW kennel while we're out? Can't we just let her stay in the camper? We would go back to walk her from there, and I feel she'd be happier in own "house". She doesn't bark alot, or wine......................?????

As long as your "camper" is not a pop up or tent pets can be left unattended, provided that there are no environmental issues. Do you have air conditioning? It gets extremly hot inside most RVs with no A/C.

If you plan on bringing/keeping your pet to your site, they must be kept in a designated pet loop, which includes the full hook up 800, 1600, 1700, 1800, & 1900 loops or the 300 or 700 "preferred" loops. The 500 loop is an overflow preferred pet loop when additional pet sites are needed. Three "pet walk" areas include a canal pet walk off the 1800 loop, a canal pet walk off the 300 loop and a nice wooded walk behind the 700 & 800 loops.

Sould you find you will need the services of the kennel, remember it does NOT accept reservations at all, so don't bother trying. Current 2004 rates are $6 for a day stay and $9 for overnight. If you check in for the week you will pay the overnight rate. You must drive them to the kennel, you can NOT walk them to the kennel, nor can you walk you pets out of the pet loops themselves.

Thanks for the quick answer tim:

We have a 5th wheel with air conditioning. We have never taken a pet to FW with us before. Do you have a favorite pet loop? We'd like to be close to the pool if possilbe.
Our dog loves camping and I can't imagine leaving her behind for two weeks.........................
Thanks!

If you check out our web site you will see tht we never go camping without Natasha.

A "favorite loop" is always a very personal thing. For us, we have no need for a preferred site. The cable is dosn't add anything for us and the sites seem a little closer together.

We tend to stick with the original pet loops (1600 - 1900). Up front in 1600 & 1700 you are closer to the pools but tend to pick up a little more road/street noise.

Re. the rates - in the 6 years I have boarded my dog there, I have never been charged the overnight rate when I check in for the week at the kennel. I do have to pick up my dog every night to stay at the camper. The kennel folks are very accomodating, though, and have even arranged for me to pick up my dog after hours when we were staying late at a park. I don't make it a habit to be late, though, and we adhere to their regulations strictly. :earsboy:

This is all very helpful info.
Tim: We too see no need for a preferred site this trip. We have stayed in those loops in the past, and never even watched TV while we were there.
We have always camped with a dog, but in the past we didn't take our beloved reteiver to FW. He was very old, couldn't get around well. We left him with good friends. When he passed away last year, we got Cookie, our boxer, and decided to take her everywhere.
Thanks again!

We just got back April 24th. We were in the 1700 loop and loved it. We found the sites to be very large in that loop. Have stayed in 1600 and 1900 befored but now will request 1700. We were in 1721 I believe and they are nice big sites. Also, very convenient to the pool area.

Shhhh! That's our favorite loop, too, but let's not tell anyone. We'll just keep it our little secret!!

Close to Meadow's, large sites, good comfort station access--1700 is a great loop!

Well, it looks like guys answered another question for me.......I just looked at a FW map and found the 1700 loop to be just what we were looking for, thanks.................hehehehe
