My family is planning their first visit to Orlando and we can't under any circumstances even consider leaving our dog home. We are driving from Maine and have rented a house. I need information on park kennels or reputable local kennels that I can leave my dog in for the day while we;re visiting the parks. Photos of kennels would be great too.
thanks!

I know for a fact that Sea World has a kennel for pets, but other than that, I don't know.

We always bring our dogs with us to Orlando.

When we go to Universal Studios, we stay at the Hard Rock Hotel and keep the dogs with us in our room. We have also used the kennel at Universal in the past. It is nice, but I have no pictures of it.

When we go to Disney, we stay in a Fort Wilderness cabin. Our family really likes the cabins. The dogs stay in the kennel at the entrance to Fort Wilderness. The kennel is nice, but I have no pictures of it.

In the past, we have either left the dogs in the Fort Wilderness kennel while we go to Sea World or we take them to the very nice kennel at the entrance to the park. No pictures.

I'm pretty sure there is one at FW and I've heard people talk about one at Epcot.

As you can see from my picture Dillon is my road buddy & drives with me from New York to WDW every summer. I can assure you the kennels at WDW are the BEST! The cost is $10 for the day and is worth a million times more that in piece of mind. I can email you a picture of us with some of the castmembers taken at the kennel at Magic Kingdom if you like

I have used the kennels at WDW since the early 1980s and would NEVER leave any of my fur-babies anywhere else. Any questions feel free to ask,

Ruthie

Opening up this thread again, but I am looking for a kennel not related to any of the parks. More of a "resort-type" atmosphere where he will get some attention and exercise. I'm looking for first hand experience. Hope you can help. I am getting desperate. (Christmas week)

Are you saying you have rented a house that will allow you to keep the dog with you at night? If not, and I hope you are not planning to bring him/her at night with you without telling the owner (you would probably lose your security deposit), I would leave the dog at home.
We board at Refreshing Paws in Gorham. There is a much more resort-y place in Freeport though called The Brown Dog Inn.

P.S. you would probably get more responses to this if you were to post in the Orlando Hotels and Attractions section.

Edit: debi I did not realize you were not the OP at first so ignore the kennel recommendations in Maine....

Actually I have solved my problem :woohoo: . My neighbor girl (college student) is now going to be home and said she would take care of him. Thank goodness. I think he will be a lot happier although that means about 3 more days without Mommy. ;)
