are there any disney resorts that allow pets?? :confused3
because i know that universal does.

it would be cool if they did

There are kennels where you can board your pet, but you will have to visit the pet daily (a few times a day) to walk it. You won't be able to bring your pet to your resort room.

Do a search on pets or kennels and you can find out more about the kennels.

If you camp at Fort Wilderness, and ask for a pet friendly site you can bring your dog.......it is the only place on Disney property that allows you to keep your pet with you. Some of the hotels offsite, LaQuinta to be one definitely, allows dogs to stay in the hotel rooms. You can however board your dog at the disney kennels...day stays and overnight stays....did that in January...stayed at LaQuinta and then at VWL....you do have to go back to the Kennel at Disney and walk your dog at least once (recommend twice) during the day. They were excellent with the dogs.....just hate for them to be in those cages all day and night......bigger dogs get bigger pens and outside pens....we have a Cav King Charles Spaniel...little but lots of heart and spunk!

I know what ya mean, boy I hate like heck to leave my beagle when I'm on vacation, We now have a travel trailer and will be taking her to Fort Wilderness with us in april, I can't wait ,she loves to go with us. She's a big part of my family.

If you are staying in a tent at FW you still have to use the kennels. The only way to keep a pet is if you are in an RV or trailer that is sturdier so they can't escape.

I hate to leave my two pugs, too, when we go on vacation! They are the main reason I keep my vacations under 1 week - I miss them so much!! However, I feel safer leaving them with their regular vet where the staff all know them and are familiar with their needs. I've read that dogs "think" in 15 minute segments - that is why they are so excited to see you even if you've only been gone for an hour. So, I think my dogs don't even realize how long I have been gone - plus they LOVE to see all the action that goes on at the vets office! Fortunately this upcoming trip they will be there when it is time for the youngest's yearly shots. Last year she got really sick from having all the medications at once, so this year they will be able to space them out and watch her while she is there.

Plus I'm devoting a large portion of souvenier money to buying them treats, toys and clothes at Disney!!!!

We used to never go on vacation because I didn't want to leave my 2 dogs. Then I discovered PetSmart hotel. My dogs love it there! When we go in their little tails just wag 100mph. They get 2 play groups a day. Same eating schedule as at home. You can bring the pet's bed, blankets and toys from home so they are comfortable. They have nice little treats and extra playtime that you can add too. I do spend extra $ to have my dogs go there but I know they get awesome treatment. BTW, there is someone there 24 hours a day. At some kennels the dogs are left alone from close to open. I always worry about a fire or my dog getting sick at night but not any more!

I know a new company is taking over the WDW kennels, and they are actually opening a "Pet Resort" on property fairly soon. Keep your eyes open, I'm sure more info will pop up.
