At this time last week we were just getting ready to hop into the car for our 20 hour ride back to Long Island. Earlier that morning, we had breakfast at O'hana's and loved it! We weren't hungry again until 7:00pm that night!
Our experience at both O'hana and Tucker House for breakfast earlier in the week really emphasized to us how crappy our breakfast at Akershus was on our first morning. At first I thought Pete was a little too harsh because it seemed "okay".
Yes, the eggs did have a funny chopped up consistency and the sausage was unimpressive (seemed like frozen Banquet Brown and Serve to us), the pastries were, I'm pretty sure, popped out of their little cellophane bags from the Sam's Club bulk containers and we had the typical limp, flavorless, paper thin meat product that Disney calls bacon, but it was all filling and okay.
Now in our defense, this was our first breakfast of the week, so we didn't know how bad it really was until we experienced the variety of freshly made quiches, real eggs, crispy waffles, fresh fruit, etc. at Tusker House and the fat sausages and homemade breads at O'hana's... OMG
!
We were on the dining plan, but after comparing the bills, we were astonished to see that our favorite - O'hana, was the least expensive breakfast with Tusker being second. Now of course we didn't get a lovely
: photo included with either of those breakfasts, but come on!
We will definately go back to Tusker and O'hana, but the managers over at Akershus better think twice about what they're serving because we've seen our last slottet until they do.
I made my ADRs back in August before Pete's review. Hopefully others will see this and hear Pete's review and be able to make decision from there. From now on if we want to see a princess, we'll head over to 1900 Park Fare for dinner. The food was excellent and the char. interaction great. Now can someone help me down off this soapbox!
