Maybe I missed it, but I was really looking forward to hearing a report from Pete and Walter on the new DCA. I know Pete spent about 90 seconds on it, but he mentioned very little about Cars Land and said nothing abut his opinion of Buena Vista Street. We were there the same week as they were. The weather was beautiful, and we were blown away by what we saw.

Pete, tell us about your visit!

I'm not Pete, but I shared this opinion at the end of our trip with the few of us that were gathered in the Grand Californian lounge saying goodbye.

DCA is just about as close to a perfect park as there can be. It's like they took the other 5 parks and made a Greatest Hits compilation.

Best nighttime spectacular.
Best actual roller coaster (Screamin).
Arguably one of the best rides WDI has ever made (Soarin).
The best ride WDI has made since Soarin (Radiator Springs).
The absolutely insane immersive themeing done not only with Buena Vista and Cars Land, but also Paradise Pier.
The fact that it is not spread out, yet not congested.

And that's all without mentioning ToT, Wheel, Aladdin, the restaurants, Tough to be a Bug, Mater's, Flying Tires, Turtle Talk, etc etc.

So basically it takes 2 billion and 11 years to make a great park. Good to know.

I agree! My wife and I had to re-arrange the order of our favorite parks:

1. Disneyland
2. EPCOT
3. DCA
4. Magic Kingdom
5. Animal Kingdom
6. DHS

Keep in mind that DCA used to be at the bottom!

We spent a week at the Grand Californian Villas, and did not even enter Disneyland park until the third day.

I, too, would love to hear Pete and the gang's take on the new Disney California Adventure, even after already listening to all the Disneyland podcasts. Pretty please give us a segment?

That is a great way to put it. We made our first trip this summer and couldn't describe it better. We thought we would spend a day in DCA and have time to take Hollywood tour. We spent three days in DCA.

After our ABD trip, John and I took a 5 night cruise to Canada on the Magic and Pete and Walter headed to Alaska on the Wonder.

We wont do a full trip report until the beginning of September because, at the end of the month is the 8 night sailing out of NYC.

Just a quick hint....

DCA now looks and feels like a Disney theme park.

Buena Vista Street is just beautiful and Carsland is like stepping into the movie.....with 10,000 of your closest strangers.

Crowded, but beautiful...but crowded....very, very, very crowded.

While I understand that you value Pete's opinion here, in the interim before it's covered on the Orlando show you might consider listening to the coverage the Disneyland team did on Cars Land. Other than the podcast, there is a ton of information, pictures, and reviews on the DIS Unplugged blog. This might tie you over before Pete gets back. :)

I also wanted to add that, as someone who was not a Cars fan before taking a trip to California recently, that I really loved the area. It was beautifully done and had quite a bit in it to explore. The area is fairly spread out, so for me, it was not that much more crowded than the Magic Kingdom during the summer.

Similarly, the new Buena Vista Street and Carthay Circle areas are amazing. I remember walking down the same area before it was "re-imagined" and cannot get over the difference. In my opinion, DCA is finally its own park and one to be enjoyed over a few days instead of a few hours. :thumbsup2

I'd also love to hear a disneyland trip report from the crew. I haven't been since I was 3 years old and I'd love to hear yalls take on things.
