Just watched Pete's earnings call video he has posted last 24 hours, and he quite rightly focussed on the bit about future changes being made to return value to shareholders. He was mainly thinking about potential price hikes for annual passes at Disneyland, but I think this might be going further than that. My immediate thoughts were paid fastpasses - at every other Orlando park they have paid queue jumping in place, so it is the obvious place where some extra revenue can be clawed back.

But it is clear that we aint going back to what we were all used to before Covid.

I have zero doubt we will see paid Fastpasses. They might not be literally "buy Fastpasses for $xx each" but bundled with resort stays tiered to price. Stay at a value and get x a day, stay at a moderate and get x a day, stay in a suite and get x a day. Something along those lines. If Disney can monetize it they will.

yep. get your money ready.

i have to admit i really enjoyed not having anything to do with fast passes when we went in late january this year. just wander around and do what you can when you can. it was great.

Hello Disney Genie! The app was shelved with COVID but that’s going to be the pathway to monetize. I think they will still offer some type of free FP for on site guests but it will be more limited and harder to get. I bet Genie has preplanned itineraries you pay for ahead of time, like a tour, that would include dining, attractions and meet and greets to match what you want. It will be rolled into some vacation packages and offered essentially as a self guided private tour at a price. It will probably come with pay to play throughout the day as well if you want to add rides at a price.
