If this is true, it doesn't sound good for the prosecution. Especially since they added a new juror to deliberations just this morning!

I think Scott Peterson might just walk.

I have to go check out Court TV. Just before I jumped on the computer, there was no talk of a verdict. That came on pretty fast.

If he walks, I give up on the jury system.

I think he will walk too. As much as I think he has done it, I don't see enough to convict him.

Tough decision for the jury and I hope that they do what is the right thing.

I hate to see him walk if he murdered his wife and child - how anyone can do something like that is beyond me. However....if there is reasonable doubt they must not convict him.....as crappy as that is.

The prosecution had a bad case to begin with, and no evidence beyond the couple of circumstantial pieces they had.

I think they were counting on the preception of him by the public as a sleazebag cheating on his pregnant wife to shake some more "shockers" loose during trial, but it didn't happen.

Of course, there is always the possibilty he didn't do it, but he'll still be a sleazebag.

Think his girlfriend will take him back?

I don't see how anyone could think he did not do it. His wifes body washed up right where he was fishing on Christmas Eve!

it's a "verdict", not an announcement, so it's not a hung jury.

the former prosecutors who work in my office suspect it will be a "compromise verdict", that is, they'll convict on a lesser charge, not the top count of the indictment -- manslaughter instead of murder, perhaps.

Even if he's found guilty it won't be over. The trial turned into such a mess, there are numerous grounds for appeal now. Ridiculous.

Things should be interesting around my neighborhood this afternoon. Whatever the outcome, don't blame the jury. They've been asked to make a difficult decision weighing a true lack of evidence with a heart tugging tragedy.
