Does any one know why there is always such a long wait for the Peter Pan ride? We tend to skip it since it always seem to posted at at least an hour long wait? I there something I'm missing?

Mainly because it's a classic. We love Pan but won't wait over 25-30 minutes to ride it.

Nostalgia.

It is also a family ride that really everyone can ride. No worries about being too short, pregnant, or having other health issues.

It is not scary.

It is located in Fantasyland.

It has always been popular, but I don't remember it ever being as bad as it is now, especially right at rope drop.

My thought is that everyone rushes back to ride 7DMT, and when they see the long line already formed at 9:00 am, they look for something else to do instead. And what ride just happens to be directly across from 7DMT? Peter Pan!

This is my reasoning behind why the line for PP is getting long so early in the morning. 7DMT is funneling rope drop people right to it.

You add to this now being limited to only 3 FP which many people use on the mountains and the line has become longer than ever.

I think that it is a ride everyone can go on. We have skipped it for years but this past year due to picking up the fast pass we went on it and it was a very enjoyable easy going ride.

I just looked at the MDE wait times and it is now saying the Peter Pan Ride is 120 mins wait, 20 mins longer than the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train........ I just don't get it.

It's a much lower capacity ride than a lot of the other continous loaders, like Haunted Mansion.

As other posters have said its classic, no limitations, slow loading and slow moving.
And now they have added an interactive queue. So folks that might have skipped it want to see the nursery, tinkerbell etc.

We dont ride it every MK day now that DS is older but I remember doing it when he was 4 right at rope drop every MK day since he wasnt tall enough for the mountains etc. Now we do it at least once a trip.

We plan on doing Peter Pan first thing after rope drop - we have a FP+ for 7DMT from 9-10, so we'll go to to Peter Pan and hop on it first, then do the mine train.

For us, it is because Peter Pan is one of our favorite movies. That being said, I would never wait over 40 min. for any ride. We have never had a problem getting on under 30 min. We have just used careful planning in previous years and last year used the FP+.

I also agree part of the popularity is that it is a classic.
