Peter Pan Strategy when it's crowded

Just inside the exit. You know how the normal line loads their ship to the far right? You'll load to the far left. I just had to hobble a very short distance. You'll stop and go a few times while they load the ships ahead of you. Then it's off to Neverland....

Use the ECV benefit as much as you can at DL! Doesn't so much in DCA since the queues are wide enough. It did cut us a good chunk of the line at screamin. I can't think what else, maybe monsters inc? Ask for the disabilities map and it will tell you where to go for each ride. In DL, tea cups and Pinocchio we went to the exit. Alice gave us a return time at the exit. Dumbo and canal boats you go to the exit. We'd done most of the other rides already before I needed it, so can't tell you first hand on thunder mountain, space, star tours, or splash. Buzz, you follow the queue but then go through a marked door before turning a tight corner to the turnstiles. Made that mistake ONCE! LOL Turned that corner and ended up making the ride stop for a bit LOL

But yeah, get the map. It will tell you where to go.

If you need to be at the park an hour early standing in line what's the difference from standing in the ride line for an hour?

I'm not sure it needs to be an hour. Maybe on a day when the crowd index will be 9 or 10? I do think it's worth it to get to security 45 minutes before opening, esp. on a MM day. Then, even though you have that initial wait, you have jump on your whole day, basically-- not just one ride. You can do all of FL in that first hour. After the first couple of hours, my rule of thumb is 1 or 2 rides or activities an hour, and we're doing well.

But yeah, I'd do PP on a non-MM day; that way there will be more people heading to other distractions than straight to FL or Tomorrowland. You don't have to jog. You'll still be on in the first ten minutes, probably, if you just walk with a purpose (rather than meander, I guess).

So, if you decide to park the ECV and to just get in line, where would you be able to park it? s it far to park from the ride? I can walk, just not thru the parks all day for miles and for several days in a row, or stand in lines that are super long. Not sure how long I'll be able to try to do the lines, but hoping to do basically short lines when I can. My knees are better now with the replacements, but my stamina isn't the best, lol.

I agree with this, even though we love doing rope drop! We went last Dec and *many* people planned rope drop / Peter Pan 1st thing. It was nearly a demolition derby trying to get to the ride before the line built up, and aggressive sprinting is not how we want to spend our morning. Instead of waiting for Peter Pan, we can easily take in 5-6 other rides with no wait times because in the end, I'd rather get the most out of EE/MM with as many walk-on rides as possible because it isn't going to be like that later in the day. Save Peter Pan for later when I can stand in line with a snack and an activity.

Let's face it - many people, adults hauling their kids along even, RUN - flat our run to that ride. They honestly should be ashamed of themselves though. When I see people running at Disney, my opinion of that person is now under their feet. Mind you, anyone who runs like that clearly does not care what anyone thinks of them!

We rode PP at 11:45pm this trip. If you are night owls, that might be an option for you. The wait time was still 40ish minutes, but it was so much cooler than standing in that hot sun.

Also at night your eyes are already adjusted to the dark so it is easier to see everything than when you go from very bright light outside to dark inside. At least it seems that way to me, but maybe I have just convinced myself of this. :earsboy:

It's not far. There were strollers parked just across the walkway at Snow White, by the grass by the sword in the stone/carosel. It's not far, but the 45 mins of hobbling in line wasn't going to be doable for me. You can check it out when you get there, but I'd just do the return time. So much easier.

Go to it first thing, but if you don't have EMH/MM, make sure you go on a non-early entry day. If you go on a Disneyland early entry day (Tu/Th/sa) and you don't have EMH/MM, there will already be crowds in the park by the time they let you in and the line, while not unbearable, will already be somewhat long.
This really is your only chance at a short line for Peter Pan. The line can easily be 30-40 minutes within 10 minutes of opening. Even during MM/EMH. It's too bad it doesn't have fast passes. Even Space Mountain and RSR are sometimes easier to get on at rope drop.

Is the Peter Pan ride at DL different than at WDW? Why so popular?

LOL!

You stand in line before the park opens so u aren't wasting park time.

Agree!

Agree!

The parks is only open so many hours. We have young kids so the mornings are when they are most fresh and happy. We get to the parks about 15-30 minutes before opening most times. This allows us to get on a ride within minutes of the park opening. Also, we can ride a dozen plus rides in the first 2 hours the park is open. That 30 minutes of "waiting" before the park opens allows us a huge advantage after it is open. We pretty much get on ride after ride with little to no wait for an hour or even two. We like to go to Fantasyland and then Toon Town in the morning at Disneyland. At DCA we usually go the Toy Story then FP RSR route.

Things may have changed, but when I was there in December and by myself (wife was at the hotel sick :( ), I noticed after the fireworks they almost had like another rope drop by the back side of the carousel (like over by casey jr and village haus) for the re-opening of Fantasyland after they got the all clear from the fire marshal.
