My DH and DS are having a discussion. So, I'm going to the experts for the answer ;)

Is Peter Pan a pixie?

Well I say no , pixies are tiny like Tink but DH says yes he is ! Hmmm looks like we might be having the same discussion now lol . I can't wait to hear everyone elses responses . :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I thought Peter Pan was a human child who went to Neverland (somehow lolol) and he has the ability to fly thanks to Tinkerbell. He's definitely not a pixie.

Eww, you know what? I can't even type the word "Neverland" without bringing to mind images of Michael Jackson... blehhh

Funny you should ask, because I was recently wondering the same thing....

I agree with jelly - every tale I've ever heard of Peter Pan had him borne a human child who rolled out of his pram (well, actually there are various versions of this, but bear with me) in a park or something and was "abandoned" by his mother. Tink was the one who supposedly found him and whisked him off to Neverland.

That's the version I know, anyways. But here's a curiosity - doesn't Peter have a sort of elf-like point to his ears?

Ok, fine, tally up another household who is pondering the same question!! :wave2:

peter pan is a human boy that lives in neverland b/c he does not want to grow up. he can fly b/c "all u need is faith and trust and a lil bit of pixie dust".

I've tried searching for more info, but I'm running into brick walls! I'm positive Peter Pan is not a pixie, but a human child who was abandoned/lost and brought to Neverland where he will never grow up.

I read an article on CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/books/01/28/peter.pan.ap if you're interested) about the story and the author... it's kinda creepy actually.

For example, "Peter Pan is often compared to death, because he takes Wendy and her brothers from the Darling family nursery; the Lost Boys in Never Land suggest dead children. The ticking clock in the crocodile that stalks Captain Hook hints at time passing and human mortality."

As for the pointed ears.... I have NO idea. You'd probably have to read the whole story to find out whether the author mentions pointed ears... if not, I'd say it's just a cultural construction that happened to become commonplace in every movie, play, cartoon, etc.
