Peter Pan at Rope Drop

How reliable is Peter Pan being a walk-on at rope drop these days? I know for a while after 7DMT that it was always a walkon, but with the BOG people getting to ride 7DMT before rope drop, I was wondering if this was still the case or those people backed up the line too much.

Also, will it be a walk-on if you are one of the pre-park ADR guests who rides Mine Train?

I am torn on my RD strategy for my two MK mornings next week. I have changed them about half a dozen times, and was also anticipating 8AM openings that it now appears won't happen. Would BTMR still be walk-on if we went to Space or PP first?

Have fun!

On Sunday the 15th this month, we headed there first thing at RD, posted wait was 30 minutes...we skipped it because it looked at least that long, but as Robo said, it only got worse as the day went on.

We did PP at RD last week. When we got there they hadn't even opened the queue yet. It was about 10 minutes once they opened the line, which was in a minute of two of us getting in line. I am glad we did it. We had a FP for it earlier in the trip, but missed the walking through the line and that was fun, the kids loved the shadows.

How far back in the RD crowd were you? That's way worse than I would have expected.

Thanks, this is about what I would have expected and I'll probably skip it since we have a FP for it later. We might come back and just walk through the queue a while and then leave.

If you are going during a busy time, I would not count on any popular attraction being a "walk-on."

But, whatever lines there may be will be much shorter at Rope Drop than during any other time that day (up until near closing time.)

We've been early December 2 other times, and on a MVMCP morning, like this one is, everything was a literal walkon in the first hour. This did not include Peter Pan, but Big Thunder, Splash, Pirates, JC, and Mansion. I would not expect PP to be a walkon any time other than right at rope drop, but I would think 10 minutes or less as long as your near the front of the RD wave, or coming from an ADR. It's not a must do attraction for us as we have a FP for it also. But I was just trying to see if it would be worth trying since the ride it's self is short. If there is no wait then I would feel find about the lines at either Big Thunder or Space not building before we got there.

It'll at least be a lot better than 7dmt anyway, as that's what a lot of people concentrate on at rope drop

I was just there and 7Dmt was a 30 minute wait when I got there every morning BTMR was shorter for about the first hour PP was about 15 minutes at RD

We always need to travel during very busy times because of our kids school schedules, and PP is the first ride we always hit up. We show up to Rope Drop about 15 to 30 minutes before opening, and we have never had more than a 10 minutes wait, but most of the time we just walk-on.

we went weekday the first week of october...we went to BOG breakfast, left by 8:55 and headed straight to Peter pan and had a 10 minute wait...easy in and out! It was a park level 4! That is our experience! Have fun!

We headed for PP at RD last Friday when we were there. The park opened at 8:45. We hurried, were not at the front of the group for sure, and had to wait about 5 minutes to ride. When we got out of the ride it was already at 45 minute wait. It fills up FAST. After that several fantasyland attractions had posted waits of 15-20 minutes, but in reality we walked on.

We were there the 20th and 21st. We went straight for 7DMT as I was able to get PP FP+ for both days, but when we went by after 7DMT it had a 30 min wait posted (compared with hour+ waits later in the day). But many of the attractions that had 10 & 15 min waits posted were walk ons, so I doubt the wait would really be 30 minutes. I don't think we ever waited the posted amount our entire trip.

We were also at MK 11/15. Had a pre-opening BOG breakfast and were able to do SDMT before RD crowds arrived. Got to PP right at 9 and the posted wait was 45 minutes. We waited about 20.

I was there on 11/15, too, got to MK 30-45 minutes before open, headed straight there, and it was not walk on. The wait was about 20 minutes. It wasn't too bad, though, I wanted to see the new queue, and it was pretty cool, and helped pass the time. After that, we went to Pooh, which took forever and holy cow, that line was so noisy. That goes in the never waiting in that line again category. I think that day was pushed up to a 4 crowd level and e died up being an 8. I had a 10:20 at Crystal Palace, and only managed to get in Peter Pan and Pooh before my ADR. :-/

Edited after I checked my notes. PP was about 20 minutes and Pooh was over 30.

We headed to PP at RD in June (keep in mind we were at the very front ...) and it was walk-on. maybe 10 people got to it before us.

If you want an alternate strategy, we found about a 1 minute wait at 11 pm early this summer. The posted wait was 40 minutes but there were only about 10 people in line. This was on a crowd level 8 day that happened to be a morning EMH. Most of the crowd got tired and left early.

It seemed to me that A&E and 7DMT were the ones that pulled the most RD traffic.
PP would practically be wall on immediately after RD if you went straight there.

During our last trip we got to MK at rope drop and then purposely took our time getting to Peter Pan since we wanted to see the new queue. I'd heard that part of the queue might still be closed if we got there too soon. I don't know exactly what time it was but we ended up waiting about 20 minutes and the queue was certainly open.

We were at MK this past Mon. Really crowded and an EMH morning. We were not the first family at ropedrop but we were there. Most people were headed to 7DMT but we had FPs for that at 8:10 so went right to PP. We were the second family on it.

We were there Wed Nov 18. Turned out to be a 8/10 day. Ate at BOG pre-opening. Did 7DMT in 15 minutes. We arrived at PP at 9:03am. We waited 30 minutes. So obviously a huge jump from going straight from rope drop.
