was reading about this and says must be able to transfer?
Which I can do without problem my only concern it says the ride does not stop to allow people to board

Can anyone confirm this please?

This is correct, it is one of the few rides as disney that cannot be stopped and started easily, there is a moving conveyor belt in order to board the ride if i remember correctly. We did not go on this last time as although my dad can transfer he usually needs the ride to stop. Hope that helps a little

It cannot be stopped or slowed. That is what I was told last week when I boarded from my wheel chair.

That is true.
The reasons are that the attraction changes from being on the ground for boarding and unloading to being suspended in the air during the ride. They can't have people inside the attraction hanging there above the ground while it would be stopped for someone to board.
The moving walkway is also fairly short, so gives much less time to get on than some others.
Theses are the reasons why WDW lists it as an attraction where guests must be ambulatory.

This is what I wrote about it in the disABILITIES FAQs thread in a post on page 2 about attractions with moving walkways:

Peter Pan - can only be stopped in emergency, and stopping requires an evacuation of the attraction.
Sometimes, it is possible to have the CMs stop this attraction for the very first or very last ride of the day. Because of how this ride operates, they can only stop it for boarding if there are no other guests on the ride. For the first ride of the day, they would load guests with disabilities with only a small number of other guests on the attraction (the number who would fit in the cars on the stopped walkway) before starting the walkway. At the end of the ride, they would stop the ride and all guests get out before re-starting the moving walkway. (This information is from an area supervisor at MK).

You can find the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature.

Also to be aware of - the getting on might be OK, but guests must be very quick to get off. The last time we've ridden, our daughter was small enough to carry on. My husband did not have a lot if trouble getting on with her, but nearly ended up running out of room getting off.
So, you may want to watch loading and unloading for a while before deciding whether you can manage it.

DS2 is able to transfer and ride WDW Peter Pan's Flight with our assistance. However, the rules at Disneyland Paris prevent him from riding it at all. I hope Disney don't change the rules at WDW to be the same as DLP.

Thank you

Imay ask if i can watch a while people load and unload see if I feel enough time./If not and i am realistic. Iwill ask about child swap and get friend to take them on one at a time ( there is 3 of them my daughter if they allow her at 10 could ride alone if they allow her to then only be two to swap round ) while I kiddie wrangle the others

They will let you watch before they bring you into the final area for boarding.

While this ride does not stop, I find am able to transfer pretty easily. It just requires my concentrating on what I need to do. So if you are trying to be responsible for getting children on with you, maybe no, but if you can go by yourself, it is doable.

I usually need the belt slowed or stopped on Haunted Mansions, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Buzz and Nemo. So why I can do Peter Pan I do not know, maybe since it is older, the belt is a bit slower? Also the ride car is very open and easy to slide into and when exiting I start to get ready as soon as the car comes around the final corner. Again, I exit fairly easily. Once it took me a bit longer to get out and they did not have time to load new people into my car but did not seem to have a problem letting the car go on empty.

I do not know about the baby swap but they would let your 10 year old ride alone if your friend could handle the others.

Regarding your friend and children - depending on the ages/sizes of children, they may be able to all go together. I have ridden it with two average to large size adults (size 12/14/16 adult size girls) and we all three fit with plenty of room. I have seen families of four and even five go on it, with young children on laps.

thank you

friend is a uk 8 so petite .children be average 7 and 10 year old though i may give her my youngest so she can help him and daughter ride with me .i will have to look see when there but hopefully may be possible as can transfer quick when needed

About an hour before the park closes you can ask one of the CM's to ask the CM in charge of the ride if you can be the last ride of the night. I let my kids ask once a year to do this. After everyone is off for the night the ride is stopped and CM's do a ride through called the last ride of the night.

Regarding the kids riding, the sit is fairly wide. Because we entered through the wheelchair entrance, they put my husband, my daughter (21 and not a tiny thing), and me all in one vehicle. We fit pretty well so depending on the size of the kids, you could send them all at once with your friend. Or in only two groups at least! Its a cute ride but not worth risking hurting yourself if you are unsure of the transfer. Watching for a while sounds like a great idea!

Thanks for advice be a wait and see wont do if risk of accident to myself or someone else and considering in uk they do not allow wheelchair users on any rides even when can self transfer then the fact so much can ride is a bonus.

If quicker maybe easier for me transfer out to the floor i do a neat throw and fall and then hoist self in chair after .does anyone know if exit has moving walkway

Only time i won a row was on holiday they said if i can climb the 91 stairs on my backside and arm including the landings I can ride .

I did ride but the two foot launch wall nearly defeated me at the top .but guy behind took one look and said you got up the stairs and your going to ride and lifted me up
