Or at least we did. I went to the Candlelight Processional the night before you did, and we went to the French restaurant. It was actually a miracle we got the reservation in the first place, because we previously thought it was sold out. However, I called like a week before, and they had room for us!

We came during lunch time to see the 5:00 show. My mom wanted to have the beef briskit, but that was a dinner item. Instead, she had the ribs. She LOVED them. My aunt had the burger, and I had the chicken, which I'm pretty sure was what your mom had. Both dishes were hits. Did she like the mashed potatoes? The food was very good, but I was a little disappointed with the service. Maybe it was because I was bouncing off the walls in order to get a fastpass for Soarin' before the show (I should not have bothered since they were sold out). I don't think Mercury could have been fast enough for me then.

I actually like Brian Stokes Mitchell. I thought he was just trying to be professional when he stood straight while the choir was singing. Every host has their own view of what they are doing, and he looked like he respected the position he was in. I know if I were up there, I would be lifting my hands and singing along, but there are different strokes for different folks. My sister (who was in the choir that night) said he was very nice to them backstage; much nicer than previous hosts. My mom and aunt preferred him to Mario Lopez because all Mario did was wave to the crowd and draw attention away from what was going on.

My only complaint about the show was that we were there for the 5:00 show, which meant there was still daylight during half of it. That took away from it in my opinion, but it was still spectacular. My mom missed "Baby Huey" though (that was what she nicknamed the last year's guy with the candle on his head). Now they just have an awkward/uncomfortable looking guy with a star attached to his back. I know they were going for the Christmas tree look, but still. Our church does a singing Christmas tree and they at least make the star separate.

Anyway, that was our experience. We also stayed at the Swan that night, so technically I missed you twice. :sad2:
We had an awesome time, even though I had to rush back the next day to take the GRE, and a housekeeper stole my mom's phone. Still, that was that.

Did this just turn into a trip report? Please forgive me. I just thought it was freaky that Pete and I had such similar experiences.
