Hi, Everyone! Tonight, I was slipping into my annual funk... remembering how scared I was 12 years ago, watching a tragedy unfold right in front of me. I was in New York that day. I saw the fire in the morning, walked through an eerily silent and empty Times Square and then saw the big dust cloud as I left on one of the last ferries for the evening.
I was lucky, in that I was working in midtown that day, and didn't know anyone in the towers.... but that day will always be etched in my memory...
So, I came home from work, and was slipping into the sadness that I feel every year at this time... But then... I saw the announcement!
My DD and I just watched the headless horseman and the parade, and I was transported to my happy place! I saw my favorite parade, and watched my DD waving to Mickey and acting like a little girl, not the big kid she's turning into...
So, from the bottom of my heart.... THANK YOU!
