Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

I don't think you'll notice the difference in colour, it all looks really nice!

I'm going to have to get someone to play around with my hair lots until we come up with something I'm happy with, and take photos to whoever does my hair on the day and tell them to do it... :confused3

I'm going to have to go back and check for the tiara story now! :cutie:

Well, tell me! What color is the necklace exactly? I can tell it's a different color but I think it might look nice together when they're not right next to one another. Like a nice contrasting effect, y'know? ::yes::

You should get all of your pretty accessories on, take a quick photo and post it for us sometime! That would truly be the best way to tell how noticeable it would be! Because if it's not real noticeable in a photo like that, I think you'd be in the clear.

I tried to take photos with all the accessories on...The tiara is a nightmare to put on...I couldn't get my hair right (I wasn't expecting to...but a similar would have been nice) and when I finally got it together...snapped the pic...the flash got in the way! Figures! When I get everything together I will definitely take a pic for all to see!!!

I don't think you'll notice the difference in colour, it all looks really nice!

Thank you!

The more I look at the necklace-the more I think it will blend together with my dress and that yes-everything is far enough away where it won't conflict too much...or at least it shouldn't...as soon as I get some ideas together I'll post.

Sorry about the job :( I'm sure something will open up.

On the lighter side, I love love LOVE your tiara. It's so beautiful. And I can tell the pearls are differently colored but I think once they are on, it will work together.

And what about 1/2 up, 1/2 down?

So sorry about the job:guilty: I wouldn't worry too much about the color difference in the pearls I think it will all look fine once it's all put together:thumbsup2 As for your hair I would do a hair trial with your hair-dresser at home, have her take pics while she's doing your hair and have her write out step by step instructions then I'm sure they'll be able to reconstruct it in Florida!

Aww! I'm sorry! :worried: You know, that just means there's something better out there for you! Oh, and Sam has a good point! How DO you feel about half up half down?

As for the tiara...I love it...just hope I can make it work. I thought I would go with 1/2 up 1/2 down...I think I posted the pics in here somewhere...but when I tried to do my hair and put the tiara in it just didn't work  I need a hair trial...or 3 or 4 :cutie:

I'm sure the pearls will be fine. I have to keep in mind that the dress isn't white white...its gold with a diamond white overlay-So, hopefully it will all come together...We will see.
Good idea to have them write down instructions...didn't think of that.

I was thinkint 1/2 up 1/2 down...see previous post...now I'm not sure...but my hair skills arent the same as theirs!!! LOL

Again, I'm still awake when I wish I was asleep. *sigh* ( I guess this shouldn't be any suprise...)

Oh well. Anyway...This hair thing has me all confused :confused3 I initially wanted something like this...

(Minus the braids in it...but you get the picture-it's the typical princess do)

Then we talked about having it down...Now here is the thing...The tiara doesn't do 1/2 up and 1/2 down...or at least doesn't do down when I try to do it... :rotfl: Then I found these....I like this style...but the tiara and style I don't think will work...

Thoughts???

I have this thing where the hair in the front of the tiara can't be stuck to my head...and there has to be something visible behind it to frame it...OK I'm weird...I know...just for some reason I'm picky like that...:rotfl:

I talked to DF about nixing the tiara and that was a no go. When I suggested ebaying it he said that he's not allowing me to make any snap decisions  When I bring it up a second time I was told that I was not going to go with out the tiara after "visiting it and wanting it so much." I couldn't believe that he remembered the story. :lovestruc
That made my night.

(The Tiara Story is on Page 7)

That style is beautiful!! I love all the curls! Sincerely, I think that looks more princessy than the updo! I can totally envision it with your tiara! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I think I'll try it...Might need to do some practice stuff. I guess I just can't see how the tiara fits in it...I can't envision it...but I'm willing to try it.

I think tiara's go with most hair styles, and that it would definately go with that 1/2 up 1/2 down do.
However, I get what you're trying to say with the hair behind the tiara, but you could do a very similar 1/2 up, 1/2 down with more height on your head, so that there's hair behind it... if that makes sense. :rotfl:

I hear ya! :thumbsup2 (and yes it makes sense in a strange bride kind of way) I spoke with mom...her whole this is that she thinks that having my hair up will take away from the romance of the dress...I think she's right...but then the tiara thing...She said we would work on that and figure it out.

Holy Cow!
So, DF and I had a little chat about bumping up the date to something sooner-like January.
I'm pretty excited...a little nervous and a lot relieved. Why the change in date? Todays economy. There was an article in the paper today that said for every 1 job opening there is on average 45 applicants. This isn't great news when you just graduated...:sad2:

I'm calling Disney tomorrow and getting a list of available dates during the month of Jan...and DF wants me to look at end of Nov beginning of Dec as well....However, my dress doesn't get here until Nov...and then don't tell you WHEN in November.

I'll be able to post more tomorrow when I have more information...This is all a little crazy...and not something I was planning right off...We'll see what happens...
:wizard:

How exciting about the possible date change:woohoo: Can't wait to hear what you decide. As far as the news article you mentioned goes... that's discouraging but atleast you have proof that you shouldn't take your job troubles personally:lmao: I think you can definately do a tiara with half up half down- you just need to get enough height in your do. Lynn had 1/2 up 1/2 down and a tiara and it looked awesome:

Here's some more 1/2 up 1/2 down styles with a little more height (bc I totally know what you're saying about needing hair behind the tiara). I think you could easily add your tiara to any of these:

I love that style!! And I agree with df...you can't get rid of the tiara! I think it will definitely work with half up, half down!

Yeah...I know I shouldnt take the job thing personally...but man...it sucks no matter which way you look at it! :confused3
I love Lynn's hair...maybe I'll just do that :rolleyes1
Thank you for the pics! :goodvibes

I hate it when DF is right! :lmao:
Lynn's hair might just be what happens with this...

Off to call DFTW...I need dates...

Just got off the phone with DFTW...They will have a coordinator call us back by Tuesday or Wednesday. :cool1:
I wasn't ready for the "Why do you want to get married at Disney?" Question...Um...ok...So I answer with, "Because it is a place that is important to us." :goodvibes Then, I did something very un-Disney Bride like and asked how many lovey dovey stories she had to listen to each day. She replied, "Quite a few but that is ok. There are some that make me cry they are so sweet." She was great. I think this is the first time that I've called and had someone sound just as excited as I am. :goodvibes

At some point this will all work out right???

So, after I call DFTW's my dad emails me and says that he won't have any vacation time to do the wedding in Jan. :sad1: I refuse to skype my father into the ceremony to give me away.

DF considered doing the JP thing here to make it legal...and then doing a DCL vow renewal. NOTHING against DCL brides...it's just not what I imagined for my wedding. :sad2:

How much of the little girl fairy tale do you give up for adult realities? *sigh*

The silver lining...At least a coordinator is calling me back!!!!:banana::banana:

:wizard:

 Good news on the co-ordinator! How crazy your wedding is suddenly so much closer!!
